Okay so we're kicking off with Carlisle156 and his wonderful Overs. Who's starting the show off Carlisle?

First up tonight from my wonderful Overs is the beautiful Beverly Savarin performing a real gem when it comes to indie music!

Honing in on her understated vocals, here she is singing 'Polite Dance Song' by the Bird and the Bee

Jag: Welcome to the show, Bev, and what a great opening that was! I think that your voice is simply flawless, especially your upper register, and I think that Carlisle did a really good job of finding you a fun song that allows your upper tones to really flourish. It was fun, and a great vocal. Next time around, I would like to see something that is a bit more challenging on your vocals, but I understand that this theme didn't allow that as much. Nevertheless, a great first impression from you!

If you can post songs/comments for me that would be great I am really sorry, I have a midterm I need to attend to. I might pop in and out as the show goes on, though.

Beverly: I have to be honest, Beverly, I wasn't 100% sold on this song for you. It wasn't very suited to your voice in my opinion. But, good on you for opening the show! I love your voice and I know you have a lot to give, so I just hope that you improve from now on. I understand that the theme was perhaps not for you, which is why I'm sure you will improve if you remain.

Bev, its nice to finaly see you in a contest. And can I say, a great start for you. The song choice was very intriging, and made me just attract to the performance. Great performance, and I predict great thingsa for you in this show. Brilliant start to the whole series, and for your DS introducution. Loved that

Woah! This theme was an absolute nightmare for you, Beverly, but this song really highlighted how understated your vocals are and your range is so impressive!! I really enjoyed the performance, it was captivating, even more so after the first minute! Hopefully you will stick around because you have got so much to give!!

Okay, pretty strong start for you there Beverly.

Next up, it's the first of Jag02010's Groups.

Singing Colourless Colour by La Roux, it's Lil' Mix

Spoiler

All of the girls will be wearing this outfit with these heels. The stage is set up like this. The performance starts with all of the girls sitting on the two illuminated white blocks infront of a white background (two on each block). Their dresses all are white at the beginning. As the performance goes on, the walls, blocks, and dresses start to change color (the dresses start to look like the second half of the picture). At the chorus, dancers come on stage wearing all white and dance on the ground beneath the blocks. The girls stay on the blocks the whole performance, standing up when the back-up dancers come on stage. During the instrumental solo, the blocks will oscillate up and down.

As for a lyrical breakdown, all of the girls equally split the verses and harmonize on the choruses.

Little Mix: Girls, way to open up for the groups! I thought that was a really chill, indie electro-pop song that allowed you to focus on your harmonies and your connection and vocal performance while still having a lot of fun, and you didn't disappoint one bit. I am really excited for you and the rest of this competition, as I feel that this was a slick and silky smooth first performance from you lot, and that you all really lit up the stage (figuratively and literally) with that performance. It was electric - well done, ladies!

Lil Mix
So hi girls, another game for you lot. SO firstly, I think this song choice was amazing. It was very funky, and cool. Vocally, it was brilliant, the song complimented all your voices perfectly. But, its just that performance was soo over the top. I found myself, more thinking how it would all be set up, rather than listening to the songs. I like a bit of theatricasl, but this seemed kinda cheep. Vocals brilliant though.

Little Mix: Girls, I love you to bits and think you're fantastic! I really liked your song tonight, your voices were, of course, fantastic. However, I wasn't very keen on your outfits or staging. I don't think those dresses really suit your style and you looked a bit uncomfortable in them. The fact that you were all just standing on blocks too kind of held you back a bit. We need more energy from YOU and I think the stage itself was getting dangerously close to becoming more interesting than you were and that's not a very good place to be.

..damn, I thought the staging was fun! I am glad the judges liked the song choice though.

Little Mix
Hey girls! When I first saw that you were singing La Roux I was a little curious as to what was going to happen because I wouldn't initially pair the two up. However, you nailed that performance!! Wasn't sold on those dresses... or the heels... but the actual song was brilliant for you and I can see that Jag is passionate about you girls so well done on a brilliant 1st performance.

Good comments for Little Mix there but did their staging upstage the performance? Next, we go to Tyjet and the Boys, who is starting your category Tyj?
Tyjet

Ok, first from my boys is a seriously under-appreciated talent! Hoping to change that tonight, it's Tobias Sumpton!

Now that absolute has like gone obsolete, I was getting a bit of Tobias withdrawal. I loved mentoring you, because you are so brilliant. And that is exactly what I can say about this song choice for you, I loved it sooo much. Brilliant start from you Tobias, and I look forward to seeing more of you.

Tobias Sumpton
I was very happy when Tyjet picked you as I saw you had bags of potential last year in your audition and it was a shame you messed up in Stage 1 of Bootcamp. This song was very ~you~ Tobias and that is a great thing. Tyjet seems to really ~get~ you as a singer and I cannot see you being in the Bottom after that!

Tobias: Tobias, welcome! I thought that was a good vocal. Your voice melded really well with the style and the theme. I was a little worried, however, that this theme would cause you to lose a little bit of your spark and the gravel in your voice that makes it so distinct, and I am afraid it did. Thus, while this was a good performance and vocal, I am not entirely sure that this showed you at your highest potential. As such, I think that you have a lot of room to grow, but compared to the first two performances tonight which showcased the acts' strengths, I think this might be a bit forgettable. But, still, a great job.

Tobias: Tobias, I just love your voice. It has a really nice edge to it and I think this was really a great start from you. We have a long way to go and I can't wait to see where we end up!

Next up, and first of my girls, its the wonderful Despina with High and Love by Tove Styrke

Despina: I'm going to be honest, Despina: I didn't particularly like the song choice for you tonight. It didn't really go anywhere for me and was on the boring side. Don't get me wrong, you have a fantastic voice, it suited you brilliantly and you performed it very well, I just think the song itself was a bit of a let down. I can't wait to see what else you have to offer because I know you're brilliant!
