Despina: Despina, I absolutely adore your voice and your tone. Dylan couldn't have found a better song for you this week. I absolutely loved that for your voice - it showed off its rich tone and allowed you to have a lot of fun on the stage. It also didn't undercut your power or your presence on the stage. It served its purpose - to craft you as a compelling artist for the show, and I think it gave you a great starting point to show growth and to develop further in the competition. Well done!

Despina
I just simply loved this so much Despina. Just vocaly it was outstanding. Some may say that is was dull or something, and I kinda understand. But you are not a really fast song kinda singer, and this was something, that at least made me wanna dance . Once the vocals soon come on, it was truely brilliant. I have lots of ideas for you girl, and hope to use them soon. But, we'll let the public decide.

Despina Pilavakis
Welcome to the show, Despina!! I was a little shocked by the song choice, actually. It was okay, and that was about it? Like, I didn't really see it being a song for you. Obviously this theme is perhaps harder for some than others, but I think you could definitely have done better! In the future, as I am sure you'll make it through this week at least, I would love to see you deliver a stripped back, emotional performance. You have a powerful voice, Despina, use it!

A divided panel with that performance there. Up next, it's back to Carlisle156 and the Overs, who is performing for you Carlisle?

Performing 'Blue Light' by the wonderful Bloc Party, it's Ben Mills!

Ben
I dunno about this Ben. It wasn't at all bad per say. Your vocals, are how I expected, brilliant. Just something about the whole thing, was just lacking something. I think the song choice just, didn't show off who you could be, it just didn't go anywhere. If that makes sense though. I hope you aren't in trouble, because I can see your mentor doing brilliant stuff with you. Just didn't fell this

Ben Mills: Ben, welcome to the show. I feel like this theme was always going to be a little bit hard for you to tackle flawlessly, so I am going to blame the main part of my criticism on that. That being said, I think that you and your mentor made the best possible song choice available to you. The positive was that you sounded great on the song, and it added a richness to the song that doesn't already exist. It allowed your voice to really show a different side to what we have seen from you in the past. The only thing is that I wish the song challenged your range and power a bit more than it did. That being said, despite my criticism, this has been one of the better vocals thus far this show, so well done to you!

Ben: Fantastic performance, Ben! I love that you showed off the softer side to your voice, however, I have a similar problem to Despina with you. It took the song a while to actually feel like it was moving somewhere. This isn't a criticism as you because you delivered, as expect, it's a criticism of the song itself.

I completely agree that perhaps the song didn't ~come in to its stride~ quick enough, but all in all that was a fantastic performance!! You have a lovely ability to be able to sing both indie/rock music AND soulful bluesy music. This is a cross between the two, for sure, and as soon as I saw the theme I had to pick a Bloc Party song for you - well done on a great performance in my eyes!

Great comments there Ben. Okay, we're heading back to Jag02010 now and his Groups. Singing Daylight by Matt & Kim are Girl V Boy!

Girl V Boy
This was really quite great GvB. I did worry, that maybe your mentor would go down a slightly cheesy route, kinda Same Differency thing, which would be terrible. But this wasn't that. I will admit, it was a little cheesy, but not a bad cheesy. It was so small, it added to the whole performance.

Girl V Boy: Girl V Boy, great job. That was pure fun, just like you two are. You have such a great chemistry (obviously, you wouldn't be together otherwise!), and I really think that showed in your performance tonight. You are vocally very unique in this competition, as you don't have the manpower to harmonize, nor do you present yourselves as a solo act. As such, I wanted to give you a song by an indie duet to really kick things off and show that you have a place in this market and this show, and I think you delivered 100%. Great work tonight, and I am really enjoying mentoring you!

Girl V Boy: Guys, that was a fantastic performance! I think of all the groups, you guys were definitely the group that I expected the LEAST from, but I loved the song choice. The woman who would not stop smiling on the drums was very distracting (& a little annoying), though.

Girl V Boy
Honestly, I was very shocked to see you be entered in to this competition! I don't really remember anything of you, to be honest. The song was actually quite a good song for you. The chorus was perfect, however the verses, I can't help but see 'Girl' struggling a bit? I think it was still a great song choice, though.

Unrelated to GvB but... Kim in that video! How annoying is she!? lmao

Great comments for you two but could we have a new Squiddly and Diddly in the drums lady? Next, we return to DylanPartyon and the Girls, who is next?

Cher: That was a really interesting song choice for you Cher - and I mean that in a really incredible way. I was expecting something a lot more rote and... well, predictable from you, seeing as you are one of the acts in this competition who commercially can sell a dance/up-beat song. And tonight, you did just that, but only after showing your versatility as well. It was a really chill performance from you that really allowed you to show off your strengths, which are your tone. I really liked this performance, and I hope we get to see more of you!

Kim is slightly painfully annoying. Sorry about that!

Cher
Firstly, Ali, if you are watching, the Unicorns live on in this video. Lol

Anyways, Cher, I loved that so bloody much. I do know that not many really like you too much. And it is my aim to make them like ya, at lest a tad. I thought that, this performance, allowed you to show a different side to you, than what we saw within the actual show. And I hope people like this direction, because if soo, I have a huge plan for you.

Cher Lloyd
Woah, that unicorn is socute! The song was actually really good for you, too, Cher!! I don't think you would have any trouble with it and Dylan being a fan of you means that some great song choices will be here for you in the future, I think! That song was really strong and you are currently one of the best we've had tonight so far - well done!
Tyjet

Cher: You know, Cher, I think a lot of people may have already made up their mind about you whether you perform well or not. I have to admit, I'm not your biggest fan, BUT, I really think that song was perfect for you! You're definitely one of the contestants who suited this theme the most and that showed quite clearly in your performance tonight, well done!

So even more video overshadowing the performance, is the unicorn the new Danyl Johnson polar bear? Great comments all the same Cher, now we return to Tyjet and the Boys and performing next it's?

Up next, performing something just a little bit out there, it's Max Vickers!

Max Vickers
'A little bit out there' is definitely a huge understatement!! I love this song, and I love Katy B, but I just didn't ~get it~. This song, in my opinion, was a really weird choice for you, Max? I just can't see you pulling it off, unfortunately, and I think you could very well be in trouble tonight which is a huge shame because I love Max the Squirrel!

03-11-2011
Max: Max. I will admit that of all the contestants, you were the one I was the least familiar with, and thus I had no clue what direction you were going to be going. It is with great pleasure that I then tell you I totally get you as an artist after that performance. After that, I think you are actually one of the strongest male vocalists in the competition. I wasn't expecting to like that as much as I did, but I really am enjoying the way your tone just makes something so relatable and enjoyable, and I think that the song really played to your strengths. Great song choice, Tyjet, and great performance Max! I really hope we see you next week.
