Wheres the cheapest place people have found for buying DVD's? I do not want to keep paying those silly prices in HMV!

I recommend Play247 (www.play.com)

The DVDs are cheap and you don't have to pay for shipping. I got Rush Hour 2 the other day for £13.99. That is it no extra cost and you get it to your door in a few days!

Try...

DVD Crave
- very cheap Region 4 DVDs (Austrailian)
DeVoteD
- very cheap Region 4 DVDs (Austrailian)
DVD Box Office
- very reasonably priced Region 1 DVDs, plus free delivery. (Canadian) Make sure you pay in Canadian Dollars not US$, you'll save yourself money.

I have used Play247 for region 2 discs a lot and am very pleased with the service they have given. They usually beat shop prices but watch out, at the moment, because HMV is beating them on some prices on their sales dvds.

£10.57 (just checked the Yahoo currency converter).
That's very good.

I can recommend DV-Depot (http://www.dv-depot.com/) for the most excellent customer service - and lightening fast shipping via DHL (three days or so, if I remember correctly). Also, if you order a few discs at the same time, they work out very cheap also.

Players chipped - try www.techtronics.com or www.upgradeheaven.co.uk.

This should really be in the Digital Home Cinema forum, so I'm moving it.

I agree that play are good . The only complaint I have is with their customer service . The have a tendancy to be very slow replaying to emails . Also their website is not suited for multiple shipping addresses making sending Xmas presents a bit of a nightmare .

Someone must have mentioned Play247 to HMV, because, to be honest, I find that HMV's prices frequently beat Play's for region 2 these days. If it's brand new (ie not exrental or second hand) region 2 you're after, though, I've never found any store that beats both HMV's and Play's price for any particular title.

I've also tried DVDoptions, their delivery times tend to be a lot faster than Play247, and with many titles they throw in a week's rental of another film too, so it's worth looking at them.

If you want movies on the same day, I find that HMV also have the widest choice, WHSmith is almost as good, but you can forget Virgin Megastores, they never have any movies you're likely to want, and the ones they do have are way overpriced.
