Cmon, we ALL love Cher!

She is my guilty pleasure of Pop....from her Sonny 60s output. To her Folky Rock 70s output, her transition to television and film, her Pop Rock reinvention in the 80s....and of course the invention of auto-tune i the late 90s....and most recently Burlesque dancer with Christina Aguilera.

you may know her as - "the goddess of the gays, Jacks reliable doll best friend, The golden girls funniest material, the godmother of pop, the chameleon of music....etc,etc"

You name it, CHer probably did it twice

No guys i am ashamed to say i never have ever seen an official appreciation thread of love on either side of the Music Forums....so this is it!

Now lets all discuss the ins, outs, ups and downs of Chers camp, eccentric, colourful, empowering legacy!

Fave albums, songs, movies, styles....which farewell tour you love the best....are you looking forward to her next farewell tour, have you seen her in vegas....lets dish the dirt and celebrate our love for this one of a kind vixen!

ps - people thinking about the X Factor runner up....please leave quickly

I can't believe we're only 3/4 years away from the 50th anniversary of ''I Got You, Babe''.

THAT is longevity, right there.

We'll probably get the Gaga collaboration at the same time too.

Then they should tour together. Gaga would make a good Sonny.

I can't believe we have to have chers surname on this thread. It's the first time I've seen it since her wikipedia page XD

(I blame Cher Lloyds fans for this crime where they think they can just call her cher when this is cher)

Anyway; I've been a closet Cher fan for a while; she was always the final nail in my gay coffin but in the end I gave up and sang "If I could turn back time" in my room.

I'm a huge fan of her 60's stuff with Sonny too. They're some lovely pop classics.

I also have to add that I love how she basically became a drag queen of herself over time. Especially in burlesque; the real trannys look just as good as her :P

It's a little known fact that Cher founded the first Gay Bar (Ye Olde Gaye Pub, Est. 1675), and was the person to suggest that boys could play women (because she had to miss a role offered to her) to Shakespeare, so she basically invented drag too. They were dubbed "Twinks" by Cher because they were little stars.

I wonder if this will ACTUALLY be her FAREWELL tour, she's said it before and went on to tour again, but she is getting into her late 60s now...

I hope she doesn't just GIVE UP music, because it's be an incredible shame (and a waste, perhaps). Maybe she could do some smaller, residency shows?

I'll miss her if she goes away.

Cher will never truly "go away" she has different body parts entirely now to when she was performing with Sonny in the 60s! so something tells me she is definitely cuccooned!

The fact she will be 66 this year is amazing!

I do lvoe Cher, her albums are very inconsistent....but damn loads of her singles are so empowering!

She is most definitely the most straightest thing i have in my ipod...ahem....

But in all honesty i really think she should be more celebrated....there is room for only one!

I swear Cher announces every tour as her last

She won't got away. In 10 years time, she will still be rocking on stage.
