She starts talking utter tripe at 37.46 if anyone on here is interested. I lost the will to live about 30 seconds later. She really cannot string a sentence together!!!! She is an appalling interviewee.

I watched that. Firstly I was a bit surprised that they had her as a guest, given that it's quite a serious programme. Interesting to see her avoid actually answering all the questions asked of her, such as "what motivated you to SCD?". And amusing to hear her say what hard work it was being "her"!

But overall, it just confirmed to me that she is actually completely inarticulate.

This is ridiculously unfair to Nancy, she an intelligent and funny lady, you must remember that English is not her first language. Mr Cambell did not loose the will, his eye's were on stalks during the whole interview, all the men were very happy to have Nancy on the settee.

She was born in the US and lived there till age 5, her mother is American, I sometimes think it's all part of a carefully crafted image.

This Week has a history of having unexpected contributors often from the entertainment world, many of these have been surprisingly good. I somehow don't think we will be seeing her on the Question Time panel though.

Perhaps Campbell was admiring her ability to completely ignore the question and carry on with whatever she wanted to say even if most people have no idea what she is on about.

Like this! As far as I can see they were all taking the P out of her.

She has openly admitted she puts it on because she thinks it is funny. The woman speaks fluent gibberish.

I hadn't heard that, but it makes sense, at least something about her does

Thanks for that - I thought she was half American and had lived there, but given her "English" I thought I must have imagined it.

She'd be easier to understand if she didn't keep going 'mmmmmm' inbetween every sentence. Maybe she's sitting on something pleasant, but it doesn't help her communication skills.

Now that's a trick the BBC are missing. If they got Nancy, Bruno and Boris Johnson on the same show, it would be the greatest entertainment programme they'd ever produced, never mind SCD (Ooh, there's a thought - Boris for SCD!)

Alternatively, given how impenetrable her spoken English is compared to her apparent comprehension, and her ability to play a totally different role for public viewing, why not recruit her for MI6? You could confuse a lot of listening devices that way

Good point. Campbell is, after all, used to working with politicians who largely also avoid answering the questions and often spout gibberish. Perhaps he had been transported back to his days spinning for Nu Labour!
