Media takeout are saying that Ashanti will replace Fergie because she wants to start a family. I hope its true, I have always liked Ashanti.

Is she the one that had something like three hits and one good song about six/seven years ago?

Replacing a member of the biggest Dance group in the world? I'm not really believing it right now.

Actually, she is the one who has had 4 Top 10 albums in the US, including two numbers ones (all Platinum and debut went multi Platinum). She also has quite a handful of hits, including two number ones and most of the rest going Top 5.

But I seriously don't believe this. If they were to replace Fergie, I reckon it would be someone new.

I didn't know she was that successful, actually. Thanks for pointing that out. But still, when's the last time she's done something noteworthy?

Well I guess that's kinda the whole point. They weren't going to pick someone who is a huge star, or more like they were never going to get someone so well known. No one would give up a big career to join them lol. Ashanti has probably been forgotten by most, but it's a smart move because it will get interest back in them both as Ashanti was once quite a name.

Rain On Me is one of my alltime favourite tracks. The full uncut video is available on YouTube - they never showed that one on TV.

Her label Murder Inc were huge in the early 2000's then but 50 cent came out and basically ended Ja Rule. Ashanti's success then seemed to wane.

I think you're bigging up Ashanti to an extent that her career does not live up to.She's had one solo No.1 ('Foolish'), one solo top 3 hit ('Rock With You') and then 2 more top 10 singles ('Happy', 'Rain On Me').That's all...And her 4th album is not certified platinum I actually used to like her a lot, she had some catchy songs but you misrepresented her career

The Black Eyed Peas without Fergie will lose them a lot of fans, I think.

They also used her voice to make J-Lo sound like she could sing on the Aint It Funny remix.

As much as i love Ashanti and Black Eyed Peas joining them together isn't going to make me like either one any more. Imo Fergie makes the BEP's, without her it's just the Wil.I.Am show.

I loved Ashanti! She should just come back solo - BEP are shockingly bad.

Biggest 'Dance' group.... really???

I adore Ashanti's music, I'm with Unigal07 she should do another album, and stay away from the BEPs

Only songs of Ashanti's I know are Foolish and Always On Time (wasn't that a collab with Ja Rule?)

The peas keep confirming they are NOT splitting up and nobody is leaving the band.
They're having a break and coming back like they did previously
(monkey business to the END.)

I'm sure Fergie has said she doesn't want to have children

It's more like dance/hip hop/pop/RnB tbh. But their latest album was very dance orientated, and very little RnB in it at all.

As a Black Eyed Peas fan, I'd be extremely upset if Fergie left. I love her so much. Although it's up to her what she wants to do with her life obviously. I'd rather the BEPs carry on with another female vocalist than stop altogether though. They changed female vocalist before aswell (although that was before they were very famous).

However, the BEPs are going on hiatus for a few years, and will.i.am has got a couple of solo albums, so it'll probably be a long time until we can know the future of the BEPs.

What a load of crap! Who even comes up with these things?

I went to their last show in the UK and they spent around 10 minutes talking about the break and STRESSING that they are "going off to do new things like they did from Monkey Business 2005 to the E.N.D 2009" infact Will.I.Am said them exact words!

As if they would get rid of Fergie!

They wouldn't get rid of Fergie. They would never do that, but Fegie might choose to leave. I read an interview where she said that during the hiatus that she's not going to do another solo album, but that she wants to take time and decorate her house.

But as we said, the BEPs are on a hiatus, and their next single probably won't be released until 2014 or something. A lot can change inbetween now and then. For this reason, I think it's fake.

I don't believe this but if it is true, I hope the Peas avoid the generic auto-tune songs they have been doing on the last two albums and return to a more urban focused sound.

Did they not say that LaToya Luckett was joining the BEP once?

I think they will. By the time they return, the generic club songs will stop being successful in the charts. I'm interested to see how artists such as Ke$ha and Lady Gaga will cope when that happens though. The Black Eyed Peas will cope find though, because they can always go back to their old sound.

Yeah, right

I think you're the one doing the rating and it's underrating. Her debut album broke records, from setting a record for selling from a new female artist perspective, her being the first female to hold the top two spots in the billboard chart, then having three songs in the top ten at the same time (only done before by The Beatles), won a grammy for the album, top 20 selling single since the 90's. A tonne of hits (16) amongst being the third best RnB act of the decade (behind Keys and Beyonce). Writes the majority of her music and is a proper artist. Amongst that she's done a hell of a lot in the movie/television business too (nothing sensational granted, though very good in Coach Carter). So if anything, she's being underrated, considering she's regarded as one of the best of the last two decades to grace her music genre.

Anyway, who even reported this idiotic rumor? Firstly, she's currently working on a new album, so that quickly kills off these ridiculous claims. Secondly, why on earth would anybody even believe she'd replace Fergie? That doesn't fit one single bit to be quite frank, it'd be like saying Susan Boyle is going to replace Dave Grohl as the lead in Foo Fighters.
