Is this year overloaded with too many bland acts
DUNDEEBOY

Is it a higher percentage this year I assume, there is a strong possibility that we will be at 100% blandness if we lose Kitty and Misha this week.

Another 5 weeks of The Risk, Craig, Marcus, Janet etc

Will the viewing figures hold up for that

NO.

Just because one person doesn't like a certain act does not make them bland. Other people may like them so we just get on with it and support the act we like.

I realized it since the auditions...this season sucks...

Seriously. This year's frontrunners will never conquer the charts like Cher and 1D have.

Kitty and Misha are the only ones who shine.

I agree. I think the best three talent wise are Kitty, then MIscha (both very close) and then Marcus (although he is a good bit behind the two females).

Unfortunately, we are very likely to loose the top 2 within a few weeks. This has just confirmed that XF over the years has become more of a case of the least offensive person prevailing, while the real talent is voted off because of a "lack of connection" with the public.

Its a shame, as the priority to XF is clearly not improving the UK music industry with exciting acts.

Instantly forgettable, all of them.

I am honestly beginning to wonder with the three threads on here with t almost the exact same premise (i.e. X-factor is crap) why people posting are actually watching?

The public votes for the same dreary middle of the road acts every year. The X Factor is basically following the same script year after year after year. It is getting a bit dull. There is absolutely zero variety in who the public chooses to support.

Actually I think this year has a lot of good acts, better than pervious years where there have only been about three good ones and a bunch of awefulls. I also like how it's harder to pick a winner this year, it certainly makes it more interesting.

I think The Risk are good enough to do well, Marcus and Janet too (even though I don't like her personally, I think she'd do well in the charts).

Kitty could have done well but it's a shame people don't like her - maybe she's just too dramatic. As for Misha, I couldn't stand her voice from the begining, she wouldn't do well in the charts, not at all, her voice is far too over-rated.

In the hope it might get better? Because they like posting on X Factor forums?

"Why are the acts so bland?"
"Why are the crap acts getting through?"
"Why are the good acts getting eliminated?"

Every single year everyone asks these same kinds of questions. And every one of these kinds of questions is a ridiculous question.

Why?

Because, like with everything with music, it is a matter of taste, and tastes vary.

=====================
On any specific act, there are always people who love them, people who kinda like them, people who find them bland or boring, and people who detest them.

For every act.

Every year.

=====================

Just because YOU as an individual (and this is targetted at no specific person, just in general to every reader) do not like an act or find an act bland or boring, does not mean everyone else does, nor does it mean "they" are wrong and you are "right".

I suspect that 90% of the people reading this will consider this post as stating the bleedin' obvious. But 10% will keep posting stupid things like "why are there bland acts in the competition?", forgetting the basic concept of "not everyone has the same opinion of what is bland".

And for those who whine about every act being bland/boring, why don't you just switch off? I know if I didn't enjoy any of the acts left in the competition, I would just stop watching the show (as I have in other some other years). It is really just that easy.

You mean to say that Johny won't go onto sell millions of albums and do a big nationwide stadium tour.

Because they are fans of the show and have been since it began and as such have a valid opinion?

Well, to be fair, I don't think we've reached 100% thread blandness just yet. Maybe the OP could help us out? He's been doing a damn fine job so far.

I don't think it's the worst year for talent. But there has been a huge sense of anti-climax for me between the hopes built up at the audition/bootcamp stage and what we are seeing every week. Carolynne and Jade not getting through to the lives - and then Amelia/James/Two Shoes dropped. And I know that the live acts are never as good as we think they are going to be at the earlier stages but this feels like the biggest letdown ever. Worst thing is the lack of a good joke act - I think maybe Chico/Wagner or Jedward could save the show. Frankie is a joke but not funny while Kitty and Johnny are better than many of the 'serious' acts. I think it is an unusually bad year, so bad I will probably give up on it if Kitty/Misha go this week.

Marcus & Misha are the only decent ones. The rest are bland mainly or worse.
