I was a big fan of her before the show but strongly dislike her now. She is awful. Loud and no respect for the other acts, plus she thinks it's all about her, plus her and gary are almost as cringy to watch as Simon and Cheryl.
Then again I dislike most of the judges. Louis is ridiculous and Gary is over the top obnoxious and arrogant. Tulisa I don't particularly like but she is so quiet and hardly there so doesn't give any reason to dislike her much.

To some people Black women should be seen and not heard. God forbid if they have an opinion or are getting the limelight. I think Kelly is great and remains popular out in the real World not just the Digitalspy bubble.

it could be worse she could be amanda holden or sharon osbourne

shes an ok judge but she hasnt got an instantly likeable personality.

people are saying "oh shes sold millions as a solo artist and in destinys child"

but that success doesnt necessarily mean shes a good judge and translates well on british tv.

im not against an american judge but it must be cringeworthy for her to see the standard set on this show compared to the US version

Unfortunately I do think Kelly's race and nationality play an integral factor into people's dislike for her. Maybe if words like "too hood" or "ghetto" weren't used, I wouldn't feel that way. Also I don't think people realise how offensive it is for someone to say that someone else is "too American" yet it seems to be common criticism against her. I'm not saying everyone has to love her slang but perhaps expressing it in a different way would stop people from accusing you of slight bigotry.

Well there's many British tourists in the U.S. too. Not to mention they also see Americans films, television, and music.

Missed her last week, the show was lacking without. I like her as much as I did when she was in DC if not more. Some people can't handle seeing strong women on TV whereas the same traits in males are not quickly labelled arrogant, cocky, rude etc. The originator of the show has made a whole career out of being bluntly rude. Kelly is pretty popular and the insinuation that she made mistakes at boot camp in a category where you couldn't go wrong no matter who was picked is utterly absurd.

Jeeze how old are the people in this thread 3 or 5?
So everyone who doesn't like Kelly Rowland is either a Racist or a Misogynist (that means woman hater in case you don't know such a grown up word)?
I happen to dislike her but I liked (and here comes the kicker) Alexandra Burke.
What do you guys make of that?

Then again that probably means I'm anti American or something like that....

Yeah, me too.

I liked Kelly at the audition stages, but I've not been as keen on her since the live shows started. Some of her phrases drive me up the wall, but I just wanted to slap her when she started on Louis over him using the word "swagger." Then there was that weird noise she kept making at him during Misha-gate. It made her come off like a petulent schoolgirl - and that's saying something, considering she actually made a valid point to start with!

Having said that, I liked Tulisa and Gary at the audition stages and both have gone down in my estimation since the lives, too. Tulisa for her embarrassing lack of knowledge of rock and Gary for his attempts to claim he thinks Frankie can actually sing.

Louis can't go down in my estimation, though. He's already rock-bottom!

I liked Alexandra becuase she actually seemed to be offering an actual critique on the singing and was honest in a way X Factor judges tend not to be. I did cringe at "ok.com" though!

Poor judge and a Poor man's Beyonce. She only wishes she had a quarter of her success. However she has a bad attitude, not got the likeability factor and probably won't do much after this and cant see her contract being done again next year

how can she be a poor man beyonce if she doesnt model herself on her. And she has had a 1/4 of her success so you need to sit all the way down. And no, she doesnt have a bad attitude, shes just not a stiff idiot.. Kelly has plenty of work coming in and she turned down/cancelled a few comitments to do xf because she loves it rather than needing to do it.

Of course it is an inferiority complex. its a big deal for you guys to come to america but at the same time you resent us? k then....

Kelly Rowland >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. (x 60 million )your entire existences. NEXT!

It would be nice to have a strong, articulate and confident woman as a judge whos capable of delivering an opinon without getting shouty and quoting cliches or decades old street slang.

I think its a very british thing to be afraid of criticising someone because theyll cry racism or misogyny

I also prefer alexandra over kelly. I dont care about the nationality or skin colour and I love feisty women.

I just thought Alexandra gave an honesty that is rarely seen on the programme.

However i think that was down to her being a guest judge with nothing to lose by telling it like it is.

Simply put, anyone whos half decent with half decent credibility would completely avoid being an x factor judge.

It's due to the stupidity you are talking that makes it hard for us black people to make valid and relevant about racism, especially on this forum.

People have made valid points on both sides of the fence, there were no tones of racism until you started talking utter rubbish,

It makes me laugh that we've had some people state they're not fond of Kelly and in response it's been put down to either being racist against blacks or having an inferiority complex about Americans

Isn't it possible that people just don't like her, without there having to be some underlying racial motivation?
