This is a pretty gross thread for me to be posting after 8 cans of lager, and I've googled all sorts but not found the answers I'm looking for.

I just want to know why, that since I've came on my period, my 6 month old cat Luna has a sudden attraction to me and erm, my crotch. My mums two female dogs are the same but they're actively forceful and try their best to access my crotch area when I'm on. It's always been the case but hasn't really bothered me, I always just push them away and tell them to naff off but it's been a bit too weird my cat started doing the same.

What is the attraction?

My friends cats do this. Bonnie Cat (she lived with us in her golden years) would be on our laps and rubbing up against our legs when we (Myself and the Slavettes) were on.

Maybe the cats sense/smell the difference in hormones. The dogs I had when I was expecting were all more attentive and protective of me when I was expecting and they started being like this before I even knew I was.

My friend's spaniel used to be the same until she had him castrated..now he leaves her alone at that time of the month..Must be a hormonal thing.

Mine does the opposite. She goes off and sleeps in another room when I am due on. I presume it is because I become more restless at night.

My dog was like this and he'd been neutered when we adopted him. A firm no was enough but he always new.

our boy used to become very interested, he was a leg licker anyway, but at that time, he was really intent on it, back of the knees mainly.
since he's been done though he's been less inclined to do it. (much to mums disappointment as she loved having her feet licked )

he also used to raid the bathroom bin and chew up the... unmentionable things contained therein
mortifying. especially the day a guest found him doing it
he also used to run off with your pants if he could find them.

but that's just him, other dogs haven;t been in the least bit bothered

we were advised to avoid the iguanas in college at that time of the month as they really don;t like it.
