Biggins 'staged' praise of Donovan
strictlylicious

Is it just me or was Biggin's (who I really like actually) "honestly-Jason-couldn't-dance-before-he's-just-working-so-hard-to-be-so-good" comments such an obvious staged and ready prepared ploy to stop the anti-Jason tide that is gathering momentum in some quarters?

Not Jason bashing at all (really liked him at start now finding him a little smug), it just so clearly seemed to me that Biggin's comments were intended to diffuse the anti-Jason sentiment.

Maybe it was. I did wonder that as well.

But maybe it sounds like that to us DSers because we read so many negative posts on a regular basis about Jason. So it felt like he was replying to those posts.

I hope that to the majority of the viewers he sounded sincere because I really like Jason!

ETA: For that matter Harry defending Aliona last night when all the celebrities were talking about their partnerships and being on SCD also seemed the same. And for the same reasons as Jason, I hope the majority of people thought of it sincere and not defensive.

I personally don't like Jason but biggins might do.
Doesn't have to be staged.
Biggins seemed to realise that Jason isn't popular as he said "sorry" twice as part of pro Jason statements.

Jason seems to me to be speaking even more slowly, in an effort to hold the viewers' attention.

I'm worried that he he could fall into a coma before the end of the series.

If he doesn't, I well might.

Oh, you beat me to it!

I don't know if I'm going to fall into a coma or do serious damage to the tv first.

I saw the banana-yellow shirt; I saw the black trousers. Dear God - was Jason going to be doing the rumba Artem-style with open flowing shirt?

Then I saw the black vest. And muttered 'Thank you' to the wardrobe dept.

Hi Terry.

Personally I think someone of a less 'musicals and show' type of backgound like Chelsee or Robbie winning, if they keep improving, would be the best result for the show

Loathe CB and am not feeling the love for Jason either. CB seems to sidle up to those who seem favoured hence the 'love' for JD. I hope he doesn't ruin another ITT either.
Why is Jason so desperate or does he really think that the viewers are all idiots and that's why he speaks so slowly?

I loved Jason and Kristina's routine last week. Only one thing spoilt it - Jason's facial expressions. He is a hard worker though but I don't think he will win. It will either be Holly, or Chelsee or Harry. Would like either Holly or Harry because they are paired with brilliant dancers.

Well it's hardly yellow

And personally I wouldn't have minded seeing his chest

Hi strictlylicious,

I would go with you on Robbie, but not so much Chelsee, although I have noticed that she can pick up routines and moves very quickly.

If there is an anti Donovan movement and someone needs to put a stop to it, wouldn't it have made more sense to get Vernon Kay to do it. People respect Vernon and listen to what he has to say. Unlike Biggins, Vernon is an expert dancer.

On the other hand I suppose Vernon has too much integrity to get involved in something underhand like that.

Biggins defusing the "anti-Jason sentiment"?? Where would that be, apart from the s&&&-kickers in this forum? Jason is just a dull goody-two shoes, he doesn't have anyone under the patio.
I think.

He is desperate to give 100%, nothing more nothing less, thats his work ethic and ought to be applauded, are there any contestants on strictly that would not like to win? I dont think so, as for his speech, thats Jason I'm afraid, he has always spoken like it and has nothing to do with him thinking viewers are idiots.
Jason is a lovely guy, he is sincere and kind natured.....and he works bloody hard at everything he does, always 100%.
His dancing is good to excellent, but he is very earnest, this obviously wont always come across well in a show like strictly,as some will say its desperation or arrogance............whatever, fact is he is hardly going to change his charachter at this stage of his life.
Those who have supported him over the years and know him from way back understand the real Jason and love him for it, simples.
I hope jason wins, failing that then Chelsee, another lovely person who is also giving her all for the show and is also talented.

Christopher Biggins - Never Knowingly Insincere.

Vernon?

He's very bland, almost "beige."
I doubt if the majority think what he has to say about anything is of any significance.

I would much prefer Biggins over Vernon Kay.
