Dream Theater - Live At The Budokan

Dream Theater - Images And Words: Live In Tokyo / 5 Years In A Livetime (this one has been out in the US since July I believe)

I've just pre-ordered mine from play.com £15 each. Both DVDs are over 3 and a half hours long with extras and documentaries

Eeek!
Sorry, completely failed to read the title properly! Hmmm, definately off the agenda til next month... have spent far too much on cds since payday!

Yes - worth dipping into the old wallet for I think. I've read a few pre-release reviews and as with Metropolis 2000: Scenes From New York, it looks as if the buyer will be getting their money's worth.

They both look great, just wish I had some money left
Still can't moan, I've bought some great cds this month... the dvds will just have to wait. At least I have 'Scenes From New York' to tide me over

DT - Live at the Budokan arrived earlier this week. I'll be watching this later on tonight so I'll let you know what it's like.

Please do! I'm secretly hoping that I'll get it for Christmas as I'm spent up again

I watched disc one last night which is the concert DVD. I'm not quite sure what is on disc two yet but I think it's maybe some more concert, and extras like backstage camcorder footage and a documenatry. I watched two hours into disc one and it was still only 3/4 of the way through. Just as you'd expect from Dream Theater, the performance is amazing, the band is very well rehearsed and play as tight as ever; there's even some nice little meddlies thrown in there too. The stage at the Budokan is absolutely awesome, and the lightshow is the best I've seen, along with the three huge projection screens. The amusing thing is how different John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess look with short hair compared to on the Scenes from New York DVD back in 2000

The production quality of this DVD is awesome, the editing and sound mix are superb, however, there is no audio commentary like on their other DVDs (at least there isn't on disc one) which I was looking forward to. Mike Portnoy has pulled off another excellent DVD, probably his best to date, pity I can't say the same about the dodgy beret he wears towards the end of the set This is a MUST buy for anyone who even mildly likes Dream Theater and at £14.99 it's great value for money.

Swipe - top review mate! I've gotta get it! It'd better be in my stocking on the day or I'll throw a wobbly! lol

BTW, got hold of the double DVD Marbles on Tour - Marillion. Excellent, quality product, packed with extras and bonus material not available from the single DVD in the High St stores. Will review it in more detail when I have more time.
