Alex overmarked again

I quite like Alex Jones but she really isn't that amazing on the dancefloor. I can't help but think that she is being overmarked and over-praised simply because she is the Beeb's current primetime queen. That being said, she is a lot better than some of the others so I don't want her to go soon, just would rather she doesn't get to the final on the back of her One Show gig.

I don't like her, find her and her voice annoying. She is a terrible presenter also, but thought she danced better tonight than she did in the last two weeks so don't think she was overmarked tonight

Not of fan of her and can't stand James.

He was basically dragging her around the floor

She did the dress of the night for me, though. She wasn't that bad, she just doesn't have the strength of a dancer yet - but I think James is working on her as much as he can.

I was just waiting for one of the judges to point that out - and doubting my own judgement when they didn't.

EVERYONE was

EVERYONE was overmarked from top of leaderboard down, except maybe Audley.

Overmarked again because she is the Beeb's darling on the One Show - or is it because she isn't getting the votes that they inflate her marks

Exactly. I saw this thread title and thought "show me someone who wasn't".

To be fair, when I started the thread a lot of the others hadn't danced yet and my point was that she is consistently overmarked as opposed to just this week.

Not imo. I thought she did really well tonight and is one of the few dancers who is genuinely improving week on week, and you can actually see it. I think tonight is the best she has danced.

For me the danced started off top notch, she did lose it a little bit towards the end, and there were a few little duff moments in it, but overall she did really good, and deserved the overall marks she got – when compared to the placement of everyone else, which is how this show has to be judged. Actually, I'd probably put her third overall tonight, certainly above Harry, whose dance was full of hit and miss moments tonight.

Personality wise I am warming to her also, besides those gawd-awful contrived VT's that plague Strictly, she seems affable, no-nonsense, and pretty down to Earth.

I agree. Alex is improving week on week. I actually loved that fall over at the end. Although I don't like James, at that moment they genuinely seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Anita is the one who is always overmarked IMHO, and never gets any really critical comments.

For me she did one of the best dances of the night, so not overmarked .. Lulu, on the other hand

I wouldn't say that but I thought there was a lot of gapping and it was sloppy in places - 8's were ridicolous it was a 7 tops.

It was a pretty horrible Quickstep, if you were to look at it again you can notice that she is basically trying to catch up with James (you can even see it in her facial expressions) instead of dancing alongside of him.

There was gapping, yes, I was surprised the judges didn't go on about it.

Maybe in the past, but tonight I thought she was rather good and deserved her marks (and should have got an extra point from Craig!).

Her Charleston seemed to go down better on Twitter than on here. Camilla gave Anita an 8 (and she's usually quite strict with her marks).

I thought the first half of Alex's Quickstep was great. But then it fell to pieces. I thought her scores were generous to be honest. And Craig seems very reluctant to criticise her since his ruck with James.

Alex was being dragged round like a rag doll in the second half of the routine.

Evening Sid!

This- Anita was better than Alex tonight and lo and behold same marks!

Also the worst overmarking was Lulu and Harry (great choreography from Aliona but his actual dancing was dire)

Hello gorgeous

I think "Anita was overmarked" has become a mantra now that is repeated however she dances! She and Alex should not have been tied.

Lulu was terrible. But I partly blame the producers because the height disparity between her and Brendan is making life impossible for her.

Harry seemed to retreat back into his shell again tonight. I was disappointed And where were the Samba rolls? They're my favourite dance move to watch!!

Get over it, it's not her fault that nobody liked Rory or Erin:sleep:

alex is getting high marks because she works for the BBC pure and simple
