My reasons are 3 fold:

*No one to commend anyone on the content in Harry's dance (i hope it doesn't put Aliona off)

*Jennifer Gray gave 8s to the terrible Lulu and then had nowhere to go, plus she was reading random things of a script

*Robbie and Jason danced amazingly with great technique and content but NOBODY EVEN NOTICED!!!

rant over

Actually I loved Craig as Head judge tonight. I thought he was far more relaxed without Len. Agree about the overmarking from Jennifer though.

Shame about him being replaced with Jennifer though.

What content. There wasnt enough content and he wasnt even doing some of the basic samba steps right.
When you compare his dance to tonight's 2 charlestons for example you have to see that there wasnt enough content in his samba.

Jennifer was crap.

SCD needs judges who know about dancing. There was a time when the feedback was much more useful and informative. Now it's more of a love fest.

It worked just fine if you ignored Jennifer's contribution.
There was no need to recruit a replacement judge for one week. It'd have been marks out of thirty, that's all.

But "ratings are ratings."

Didn't miss Len at all.

Jennifer was a waste of space

Could have worked just as well with 3 judges but if they had to have someone over from the US why not one of the pros Louis or Mark Ballas or Tony?

I thought so too. Craig was more relaxed about everything. He got less booed and people actually listened to him.

I thought it was far better without Len.
Shame about him being replaced with Jennifer though.
I also liked the jury better this week without Len. To be repeated, but with someone else than Jennifer.

Jennifeight's contribution was to give some publicity to the programme. At times I was left wondering how her comments were meant to assist, as they were so vague and unrelated to what had been danced.

I completely agree with you. Jennifer's only positive role tonight was to make Alesha and her inane "that dance suited you" style of feedback look learned and credible. grr. I think that is why she was brought in.

Jennifer was a non entity tonight. But the show did not implode. I quite like Craig being the head judge actually.

Robbie never dances amazingly with great technique, though he always dances with great gusto and gives everything he's got; Jason is usually good technically but not so good in the Rumba tonight. ( Rumba is very difficult for male celebs to do well).

I thought Craig had a great show tonight. For once it was so nice to hear his comments without the audience booing every word or Len sitting back in his chair giving silly looks at his comments and scores.

i didn't miss Len at all - in the last couple of series I have noticed that he quite often makes really personal and insulting things - he makes me cringe, he can be really nasty.

Craig, is camp bitch but always gives constructive points to work on. Bruno should do more of the same as he obviously knows his stuff.

Alesha.....oh god let the nightmare be over please.

Jennifer Grey - same league as Alesha, only she didn't know the people and had to read the background to everyone.

Could we please get a professional dancer on the panel - Karen Hardy, Ian Waite, Matthew Cutler - at least they will know what they are on about from a dance and choregraphers perspective.

She overmarked everybody, so it cancelled itself out.

I hope the powers that be choose more wisely next time when/if Len or any other judge is away. There are better choices! Derek Hough (as well as Karen, Matt & Ian, who I suggested on another thread) would be brilliant solutions.

The panel tonight was a joke. After Jennifer raved about Lulu, and Lulu all but knelt down and kissed her feet, it went rapidly downhill.

Craig was the only one who had anything worthwhile to say. Even Bruno has learnt something during his time as a judge, but acts too stupid to be taken seriously.

I like Len well enough and he does know what he is talking about, even if other people don't agree with him. But they need another judge from the ballroom/Latin world as well - but PLEASE not Karen Hardy.

I think "implode" is probably a bit OTT, but two judges with absolutely nothing to say did make the whole thing seem a bit lifeless and pointless.

Still, it didn't scrape the barrel like Halloween week, so for that we should be thankful.
