Also A Secret Wish by Propaganda - a true hidden gem of the 80s.

Bloody hell -I'd forgotten how brilliant Propaganda were- just dug out an old tape with 'Duel"on - truly magnificent!!

Currently listening to the gorgeous melodic rock of Lorien "Under The Waves" -I think an Icelandic band
AND
Mobilize -the debut solo CD from Grant Lee Phillips the former lead singer with the mighty, underrated Grant Lee Buffalo

Top single at the moment is the career high "You Held The World In Your Arms" by Idlewild

I love that Idlewild song, and some of their others...

This week i have been listening to:

The new Goo Goo Dolls album - Gutterflower (Excellent - i recomend BIG MACHINE to everyone, its the best song i have heard for a long while...)

Counting crows, Barenaked Ladies, Smashing Pumpkins, live and five for fighting are all great bands IMO

Counting Crows -bloody magnificent band- August and Everything After and This Desert Life two of the greatest records of all time IMO.
New CC record out next month I believe.
Liked some of Live's and Smashing Pumpkins stuff but never really "got" Barenaked Ladies - a little too quirky I always thought, and never heard of Five for Fighting

As mentioned above -Grant Lee Buffalo similar sort of style to CC -three CD's I have of theirs -the best being their debut Fuzzy
Alos in a similar vein - Silver Jews -Bright Flight -tremendous collection of songs, a little more bare and not quite as rocky.
Also bought recently -all from Amazon and all tremendous
Beachwood Sparks -Once We Were Trees
The Best Of The Del- Lords
St Thomas - I'm Coming Home
Doves - The Last Broadcast
Alex Lloyd - Watching Angels Mend - not as good, but some great tracks
Melaton - Falling Star EP
Moldy Peaches - County Fair -the B side is hilarious -if you like really childish (but funny) swearing!
Woodstar - Time To Bleed
Any of these come highly recommended

...this 'week' (though it now just seems random times), its godda be a band called 'kings of convenience', with their album 'quiet is the new loud'.

all very accustic, but redicuasly hard to play if ya tryed - there are some true wonders on this album. Toxic girl for one, being a very nice - possibly girly song; its soft and has a little beat to keep it moving. then on the other hand, u have a song called parrell lines, which has a lot going on (being guitar, piano and singing deeply - which for this album is loads lol) but moves very slowly and devolopes into somthing very simple, but nice and relaxing...

this is a chill out album realy, and just one i have got on with.
