....was marvellous.

Not just because of Artem's injury, but because it was inventive and interesting.

Memo to Aliona - if you want to do "innovative" work with your partner, then "do an Artem" and make it work.

There was a jive? When? I must've missed it! ;o) No, REALLY. Who did a jive?

A bit surprised that people actually thought it was the best dance tonight, as it lacked speed and there were only a tiny bit of kicks and flicks (which she did as well as Anita a few weeks ago, not very impressive).

Makes me appreciate Alesha´s jive all the more, when I see the efforts from this year.

To be honest, I found it a bit of a let down. Not the music, choreography or outfits - they were all terrific. But the actual dance itself felt a bit lacklustre (and that's taking into account it was supposed to be a cool, laid back Jive).

I felt like the routine had been built up on ITT, and by Tess tonight with her "you won't want to miss this" comment. But the dance never took off properly for me. I thought the marks in relation to everyone else were fine though. Just expected more., and maybe we'd have got it had Artem not been injured.

I thought dressing Holly just like Artem, down to the shoes, invited a direct comparison between them, and that though Holly was quite good, she obviously didn't measure up.

Cool and laid-back. So. Not a jive at all then. As I said before.

Artem, FFS PLEASE don't go all Aliona on us! Do some proper choreography!

The jive wasn't the best ever on SCD - but given tonight's routines I think Holly/Artem were in the right place on the leader board.

The lovely Holly would look good in a bin bag - but those costumes were inspired.

Jennifer's ridiculous marking of Lulu left her with little room for manoevre once the the big guns hit the dance floor.

Liked it, but tbh was waiting for Artem to whip Holly's suit off to reveal a skimpy little number a la "Making your mind up"

Adore Artem, loved the choreography. Brilliant dance. Well done Holly and hope it's nothing too serious for the gorgeous Artem's even more gorgeous leg.

I really enjoyed the dance but agree it wasn't much like a jive. Most of the dances seem only to be loosely based on what they're supposed to be this year.

It was good, but to be perfectly honest, I really don't think Holly's as good as a lot of people says she is. But it was one of her better dances, I'll give her that.

I liked the concept, I really liked the dance in and of itself. It could of worked as a jive, but I felt it was too laid back for it. I think perhaps Holly was just a little too laid back also.

they had to change the dance last minute due to his injury things were adjusted and taken out

I didn't like it - I want to see kicks and flicks - and while Artem's injury may explain the lack of content in it the poor idea for Holly's costume cannot be excused

Lulu's too for that matter

Trousers in a ballroom/latin dance show do not work. It looks wrong

The choreography was great but Holly was too clunky for me. I didn't think it was worth more than a 30.

Derek and Julianne Hough recently did a jive with similar matching suits, braces and spats on DWTS. They took off their jackets halfway through and I was hoping H&A would do the same...

J&D's jive:

Kicks and flicks aren't the be all and end all, there was a good amount of basic jive content. Harry's jive had more to it performance-wise, but other than that it's the best jive this series so far IMO.

As one of the judges said, it was a bit of rock n roll, bit of swing, bit of jive ..... point is it should have been all jive, not bits of other dances. Again like last week it was bordering on a showdance.

I personally don't like women dancing in flat shoes and trousers, it tends to make them look flat footed and heavy, and that's how I felt Holly looked [heavy as in heavy footed, not overweight, she's got a great figure].

I like Holly, but when she dances there always seems something lacking. Her footwork is very weak for a start, which is a shame because I feel with if she really "dug deep" (as the judges say) & found that extra spurt of energy, she could top the leaderboard and win.

There was actually quite a lot of proper ballroom-jive content in there. The kicks and flicks are only a small part of the jive, and should be used sparingly and only when the musicality dictates. They werent really needed in tonights dance. And with the swing, lindyhop and rock n roll not being danced, there is room for manouver in what goes into Jive, as those three dances are heavily jive based.

Kudos to Artem for originaly choreography that stays within the rules and within the persona of the dance (unlike Aliona's random content).

Artem just does a show dance week after week - I wish he wouldn't.

Totally agree, walnut. I'm no expert, but Artem does favour the West Coast swing integrated with a traditional jive, which I understand is pretty widely used. Smoother, funkier, but still noticeably a jive. Yes, there were steps and moves in there that were not traditional, but there was no faffing abaht while Artem combed his hair. I loved it.

I really like Holly, but she seemed very heavy footed doing this dance.
