I felt so satisfied reading it that I just had to share:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/t...ne-review.html

I feel it hit the nail on the head re. Jennifeight, props and dumbing down... and of course all the 'faffing abaht' as Len would call it

Didn't agree with the JAson and Kristina comment but each to their own

A surprisingly accurate review of the show. That reviewer must be a secret Strictly fan deep down.

I agreed with little of it except the praise for Chelsee. Anita undermarked? Alex most improved? Robbie elegant? Pfffffffttt.

Oh yeah.... ignore all the stuff about the actual dancing...

I think what I mean is, the reviewer moans about all the stuff we moan about I hope more will follow suit to try and get the BBC to get the message (something tells me they won't though)

I actually share this reviewer's opinions. Not often that happens with the Telegraph!

My thoughts exactly, most of the comments seem to have been lifted from half a dozen threads on here

Thanks tabitha - says it all, saved me composing a post.

Great review but I dont think Alex is improving.I actually think that she was overmarked tonight. Lol Kristina definetely looked furious; I agree with that.

Some fair points.

In particular I agree with the criticism of the 'comedy' sketches that have become a part of the pre-dance VT. There's enough cringe factor on the show without this.

Jennifer Gray is not reigning champion of Dancing with the Stars - that is Hines Ward. She is last-but-one Champion ... it's been bugging me all week

I'm glad you said that - I thought I must have been imagining the last series with Hines and Kirstie Alley!

I can't take seriously a review that calls Alex's quickstep 'classy and light-of-foot'. It was awful and she is certainly not 'the most improved'.

I do agree about the scripted VTs though. The training footage VTs were great, I don't see why they've gone for the scripting, which must cost an awful lot more.

Yeah I don't agree on most of the dancing comments. Alex was pants for a start.

But on the VT's, Jennifeight and dumbing down they were spot on.

Apart from the fact that caption cant possibly relate to the photo.

I said the same thing about those VT's - they are just not necessary. Why spend time away from training when it's so badly needed by most of them ?

It's great that Strictly is winning the ratings over x-factor but, in my view from what I've seen of the x-factor, it's not such a strong show this year (Gary Barlow aside) and so I think the Beeb have to keep working to keep Strictly real and not introduce elements that no-one likes. they are already on dangerous ground with all the nonsense about Sundays results show when everyone can find out the result on a Saturday night when it's actually known.

Plus the thing that I consider most is the sheer waste of money - in dresses (for Tess and the team) on two shows, the cost of those awful VT's, the cost of flying in Jennifer Grey and her outfits/family etc,. It's just not necessary. None of it.

Attractive female presenters will expect decent dresses and they have two because they are separate shows with the appearance to most of the audience that they are done on different days.

Didn't someone say that the American show were paying for Jennifer Grey to stand in for Len?

I would not have thought the training VTs were a major cost and possibly a welcome break from training for the contestants. Quite possibly one or two crews going around doing them for the programme and It Takes Two - presumably Holly's helicopter was her boyfriend's or MacLaren's.

I agreed with most of it, but don't think Anita was under-marked..unless you believe she deserves extra points for being over 60.

Agree with most of that article. Lol at the bit about Jennifer Gray looking like a completely different person. I first saw her on BBC Breakfast the other day and I couldn't believe it was the same person. She bears no resemblance to the woman in DD.
