Question about the Results....*spoiler in tags*

I was on Wikipedia earlier tonight looking up some Strictly stats about the celeb male Rumbas (only 8 celeb males scored 30 or over - all of them reached the final 3 and 3 of them were winners) and something about the order of the call-out caught my eye.

In the weeks before tonight, Alex/Holly/Lulu were in the first 5 to be called out 3 out of 4 weeks, and after

Spoiler
Lulu's

exit tonight, it makes me wonder whether that means all 3 of them are in "the bubble" (ie were 3rd/4th/5th from bottom in overall score/public vote).

If so, these people are the ones with the big fanbases:

Spoiler
Russell and Harry for definite, they're left towards the end most weeks. Robbie's vote is steadily improving as he moves further down the list. Chelsee, Jason and Anita change each week, so tomorrow night's show should be interesting there

Just to note, the first spoiler says who left this week, the second is about the other contestants.

Do we really know how the votes are tallied? When they call a celeb in the results show whether if that celeb is the 1st one to be callled or one of the last, I just dont think that is really indicative of how the public vote.

I agree with edy10 - I don't think we can read anything into the order that the results are read out in.

It is particularly difficult because the BBC doesn't reveal the voting percentages and order at the end of the series. I know that ITV does for it's reality shows and I always find it an interesting read.

It's a pity the BBC doesn't do the same - it would be good to see how far on or off target our views on the popularity of the celebs are.

I agree and I also think it would crush some celeb's ego.
I really wonder if some people are really popular as they are make out to be.
I think Harry is pretty popular but I wonder if Jason is really that popular.Maybe Chelsee is( becoming )really popular with the viewers? Who Knows really? It would have been interesting to find that out.

I too would love to see the final voting figures at the end in the way that 'X Factor' does. Wasn't it Tesco Mary last year who surprisingly was topping the voting or coming second week after week? I guess the argument against it from 'Strictly's point of view is that they are dealing with celebrities and not "ordinary" people. It could be a bit bruising for some fragile egos - and would therefore put future celebrities from potentially agreeing to sign up.

I'd like to see the voting figures as well.

I had a look at last year's to compare - Kara & Patsy were usually part of the first 5 to be called out, with Matt and Pamela changing every week. The person (or people) who topped the leaderboard each week were in the 2nd/3rd/4th spot every time as well.

The only thing I can work out from this weekend is that
Spoiler
Russell must have come at least 3rd from bottom in the public vote in order to escape the bottom 2

The BBC don't reveal the number of votes as they say it is "sensitive commercial information."

That's "BBC speak" for not wanting to admit how few people vote compared with the viewing figures.

Given that the viewing numbers are public, why do the voting figures have to be secret, if it's anything other than what I've suggested?

It's so they can flush the votes down the lavvy and award the trophy to Socks the cat.

This is because you dont like Jason and dont want him to be popular.
