Holly keeps getting praised on performances that will never happen!
RubySparkle

The judges and some viewers seriously have their rose tinted glasses on when they watch her.

No bounce action in their 'jive' and no American Smooth in her dance last week... plus the fact that she always looks like she's been forced into doing the dance at gunpoint. She's always just going through the motions but the judges keep praising her.

Is it just to hide everyone's disappointment? I keep wanting her to improve and I'm happy that she's enjoying it now but she really hasn't got much better

On the plus side, she does have very nice bazongas. Don't think they haven't noticed.
I give her +1 every dance

I get what you mean, a lot of people say "she is so capable of more" but still praise her, the judges included.

There has to come a point where they admit she just isn't capable of more and she isn't going to live up to their original expectations.

To be fair to Holly, her attitude and performances have improved in recent weeks.

But I do feel like last night the judges got carried away with the "originality" of her Jive and overlooked the execution (which looked a bit sluggish to me).

She's still amongst the frontrunners but I'd say she's bringing up the rear rather than leading them.

Holly put that all behind you and make a clean breast of it...

She looked as if she couldn't keep up last night and her legs normally look stiff to me so not sure why she gets so much praise really.

I expected her to be much better.

Holly didn't choreograph the American Smooth - so if your criticism should be directed at Artem.

Personally I loved it.

As for looking at her through rose tinted specs - perhaps you too would appreciate if you gave yours a good clean.

She isn't as good as Kara, that's the problem. Lots of people seeing Artem dancing with Holly seem to think how much better Kara would have done it.

In fast dances Holly is not as sharp as she should be or looks as if she is struggling to keep up. In slow dances she can make beautiful lines but she does not move elegantly between movements. The jive was her best dance but needed to be sharper. Artem chose music and. a routine that hid her weaknesses to an extent.

For me, it has absolutely nothing to do with Kara or Artem , she'd just not very good. She's young and she's fit so before the show starts everyone automatically thinks that, as a performer, she's going to be a really good dancer.

But as I've said before on numerous occasions, lovely as she is, her style is just too laid back. She doesn't look like she's enjoying learning to dance that much, she has a very lethargic, lazy way of dancing that doesn't really sell it as she doesn't have that much performing experience and I think the whole experience is wasted on her really. I don't think she'll improve very much to be honest and might get a good deal worse if she lasts to doing 2 dances a week.

I put some of her problems down to a lack of physical fitness. But this must be improving as the weeks go on. If she can get through the next few weeks, when Audley, Russell, Anita and Alex are likely to go out, she will be in with a great chance.

I think your probably right with 3 of those you quote, but I'm not that sure about Russell - and this isn't just because I vote for him.

If DS is a reflection of the GBP Russell has a pretty formidable fanbase.

I completely agree with this summary. I like holly as a person but I think she is quite lazy and doesnt have the dancing bug like others. I dont see her as a winner.

I watched Holly's jive last night & thought she was lazy. It's like she puts in minimal effort just to get by each week and I'm sure she can dance better than that. There's no real energy in her performances and not much chemistry between her & Artem.

I think they thought she would be better than she is, and need a "female leader", and even though it becoming patently obvious that this is Chelsee, they seem to still want to big up Holly into being better than she really is. It's like Lisa Snowden all over again. shudder.

She looked like she'd almost had it at the end of that jive. She's not losing any weight though. I think she survives on a diet of cake-icing and toothpaste.

I think for pretty much any other performance I might have agreed with you - but I'm with Craig in that last night *finally* I felt she brought some genuine energy and spark to her dancing. Dancing next to Artem is always going make anyone look sub-par but I thought she did really well to keep up with him; and she was making eye contact with him and smiling and connecting at different points. And then, to my utter amazement, they had their arms around one another in front of the judges and in the Tess pit. And she praised his choreography!

I missed the kicks and flicks. The concept and story were great, but the execution was bad. The judges have gone blind. I love Holly, but pick up on the mistakes and don't fake it. (the judges not Holly).

She is pretty flabby to be honest... and when she used to have a great figure you can see that she just eats too much unhealthy food!

Was my favourite dance last night, shame Holly couldn't pull it off perfectly - I still enjoyed it a lot.

I'm not sure Holly can raise her game to what we think she can, I hope she does, because she'll be great, but I can't see it myself.

Should still be in the final in my opinion

I thought she would have lost more weight and have a more defined waist with all that dancing.I think the judges are determined to keep her and Harry in to attract the younger X-Factor audience .
