I was never a big M fan until this song but it's a song that I have constantly gone back to ever since it's release in 2005.

I love the song "Gimme Gimme Gimme" by ABBA and Madonna samples it so superbly and excellently that there's nothing not to like. I really like the "Don't cry for me, coz' i'll find my way" line, as well as the break down in the middle (in the video version).

It's a fantastic song and I love how it makes you dance. It's fantastic!

Most definitely still in love with it!!

when i saw the video in Novemebr 2005 for the first time.....it just HIT me....the Abba sample, the Love SOng lyrical reference "time goes by..." just incredible....and still love it....powerful introduction on the Confessions album it instantly seeps in and you dance your arse off!

Still a smash and cannot wait to see and hear what she does next

and thanks a million for proving massive gaga fans can love Madonna too absolutely vile some people can be towards each other. M is my fave artist in music and i love the metallic knickers of gaga

Also about the breakdown it was genius wish the video was noted more for the street vibe, the breakdown and slick direction than JUST the leotard! its an epic video! I love the way Sorry continued it too

I absolutely adore this song! It's probably what got me into Madonna (although it was only earlier this year ) alongside Give It 2 Me.

It's such a great track
It could of been on the verge of being "camp cher hit" but it's a very credible dance song.

Hung Up was so MASSIVE when it came out. Although I preferred Sorry, which she released shortly afterwards. It's similar to Hung Up really, a massive dancepop tune, but I found Sorry catchier.

I love "Sorry" too! But I just love "Hung Up" more. "Confessions on a dance floor" is a great album

It wasn't just the leotard that the video remains famous for, but more so for Madge inventing THAT dance move - the "dog with an itchy arse" You know the part where she drags her bum across the floor. It just looks so amusing lol.
I remember at the time not being able to watch the video without cracking up at that particular move!

Epic song, one of those songs that is catchy from the first listen. I also think it is respectful of the Abba sample and doesn't turn it in to a cheesy bit of kareoke.

One or two reviewers said on its release that it had very little substance without the ABBA sample. I think they missed the point.

It was the ingenuity of building the ABBA sample into the track that i think was just that-ingenious. The end result was a triumph.

I read and heard interviews with Benny and Bjorn discussing how it all came about-and the Royal Palaces of Madonna and ABBA exchanging communications to ensure the finished track was to everyone's satisfaction.

Yeah, definitely one of her better songs. It's got a great beat to it and she sings it great as well!

- Just a matter of opinion I guess but how can Hung Up (and all the Confessions singles) be awful?? It's Madonna at her funniest, campest and care-free since many years! And one of her best songs...
And I totally see what you're saying Leosw4 - I thought the criticism HU and in a way Confessions got for sampling ABBA, channelling Cerrone/Moroder and recycling her previous songs was just too easy and critics were too lazy to see how she elevated Gimme with HU to higher grounds. Since HU, each time I hear Gimme Gimme, I just can't help hearing Madonna's HU, not the other way round.

Never really loved Sorry. Obviously was glad it went to number 1 when she released it1 but thought there were other songs far more superior to follow HU. Get Together being one. Would have loved to see it released as single nbr 2, which could have paved the way for Let It Will Be as third single & Like it or Not as final single

Genuinely my favourite song. I think it gets better and better over the years. Not really been a mainstream disco song like it since.
