I wish Tom Segal would stop following my selections on here and come up with his own.

davethecue and DartGuru still to chose their replacement for the NRs. If they dont, as per the rules, they will have the highest numbered horse - Hills of Aran

Off topic slightly but in the papers today how Channel 4 will show all terrestrial racing for a minimum of 4 years from 2013. This obviously includes the National, Derby and Royal Ascot. I must admit I am quite surprised but also slightly pleased as I think C4 do the sport much better than any other broadcaster.

I'm off topic too and have posted the following in the broadcasting forum but I might get more of a response here.

C4s Grand National commentary team should be.

Simon Holt - Start, Chair etc, finish

Richard Hoiles or Stuart Machin - fences 1 to 4 and 10 to melling road (twice)

Aussie Jim (poached from the beeb) or Mark Johnson - fence 5 to Valentines (twice).

Any suggestions.

It depends who is doing it for the course. The past few years I think it has been Hoiles and Machin/Johnson doing it.

I would guess they may use a couple of their own boys - Mike Cattermole and Derek Thompson. Although I would go for Ian Bartlett and/or Darren Owen. Must admit I am not a huge fan of Aussie Jim.
