Its well known that the Scots all celebrate Guy Fawks night as second only to the great Rabbie Burns night. We take it very serous as we know what it was about

The rest of the UK tends to just take it as an excuse to eat loads of burgers off made from the bonfire and barbecues

This is why the Lulu fans couldn't get to the phone

Also I know of many fans who did not realsie the voting was only going to be on for 20 mins last night. The Glasgow Branch of the Lulu fan club was at the Glasgow Green fireworks party and wasnt aware that the voting was finishing early last night

This is not on BBC.Very unfair
So, what should the Beeb have done, in your opinion?

Messed up their scheduling just so that Lulu wouldn't be performing on November 5th? I'm intrigued.

There's nothing unfair about a public vote, unless the "Scottish telephone service" has broken down.

What about Hogmanay then? That's very popular in Scotland.
I would have thought that was second.

The public got it right and why should The Beeb reschedule anything? There is nothing unfair at all. The public spoke and the Blulu went. She has not proved to be very popular and we celebrate the 5th November - it is not the sole preserve of the Scots. We don't all eat burgers but celebrate that OUR Parliament was not blown up. Methinks Tom is a little bit jaundiced.

I would say Hogmanay is first as it's celebrated all over Scotland whereas many of us don't really bother too much about Burns.

Anyway, this guy is very funny. Surely no one is actually taking him seriously?!

I would imagine that a fairly large proportion of Scottish people are blissfully unaware that Lulu was born in Scotland.

Its a shame that in one of Scotland's most important days of the year Guys Fawks night the majority of Scotland was at Bonfire parties and therefore never got a chance to save Scotland's Treasure

Shame on you BBC for putting SCD on in a day when you know a whole country wont be in to vote

I think this is a disgrace and demand a re-count

They new that Lulu supporters would be out last night yet still carried on with the show regardless

Gutted
And did something happen later in the evening ? did the entire Scottish population lose the use of their fingers and were unable to dial ? the phone lines didn't open until after the dancers performed and were open until way after the show .

A public enquiry has started. Scottish scientists are considering ways to travel back in time to persuade Mr Fawkes that 'May is a much better time'.

I think this is what Jennifer Grey was subtly alluding to when she mentioned Lulu's porridge/porage.

I disagree, she shouldn't have been working on it anyway.
OK, I'll say it - Judging from her dancing, she wasn't.

What all of them? That must have been a nightmare to organise.

I thought Rabbie Burns was Scotland's treasure. Lulu has lived in England most of her life and surely the entire population of Scotland could not fit into the space where Glasgow Green's Firework Display was being held.

Why? Did a few scrotes take advantage of the mass exodus to nip in and nick it?
