I agree with the OP that it was unfair that Lulu was evicted on a Scottish public holiday. She should have been evicted on an English one so I could have enjoyed the occasion even more

Oh I think I can answer that - Mr Fawkes was trying to blow up James I who was Scottish and sitting upon the, ahem, English throne by then. However said wee kingie was another scot who'd left the bonnie banks and braes behind and found his fortune elsewhere. Not sure he ever wanted to go back either.................................
I got to say I am now slightly concerned how this post is turning out. This is not supposed to be a debate about the merits of the Scottish holiday Guy Fawkes night or why he wanted to blow up parliament etc. This debate is supposed to be about the BBC's continually biased against Scotland when it comes to national events like SCD etc and how we Scots are always made to feel like second class citizens in our own supposed Utd Country.
The fact that the BBC has not even made a statement about this farcical situation that led to Lulu being eliminated from last weeks competion just I fear prove me and my fellow Scots points about the obvious bias against Scotland
Even if you don’t like Lulu surely most fair minded people on this forum can see the merits in Scotland complaining about the unjust way the vote was carried out last Saturday.
We just want a more fairer voting system for future SCD series

As a person of Scottish extraction, I have never considered 5th November as a "scottish holiday"
