really, these two are quite amazing to be dancing as well as they do in their sixties especially when you compare them to other older ladies (apart from Pam Stephenson) that have barely been able to move at all”

If you could 'strengthen your core' surgically, then I am sure Lulu would have had it done already.

I think Anita and Lulu are fab and they are an inspiration to us older types.”

I agree with you 100%

I have arthritis in my hip, needing a replacement sometime soon but I still dance, Latin being a bit of a problem right now but I can still do the ballroom and I love it.

I watch Anita and I think Go girl!!!! Not perfect but full of enthusiasm and energy, I hope she stays in for a while yet.

Although I take your point about Anita being amazing for her age, I don't think the older female celebrities should be spared criticism just because of their age. I like that the judges give Anita things to work on each week because she's so eager to improve ”

wasn't saying they shouldn't be constructively criticised

"strengthen her core" is not constructive though it's a personal attack

Anita tries very hard and is a lovely unassuming woman. I admire her energy and fitness. She is very supple for a woman of 62. I wonder what she does for exercise, yoga perhaps?

And I wish Alesha would stop saying she's an inspiration; my mum is 65 but crippled with arthritis. Anita is LUCKY to be 63 and healthy, it's not something she's acheived. It is not something we can all aspire to, mores the pity.”

I thought Anita finally danced a dance (Charleston) that actually looked good?!

She did. And it was good. Let's see how some of the younger celebs get on with the Charleston.

I loved it, the judges loved it, the studio audience loved it and the GBP loved it. Nuff said!

It was ok, certainly not Anita's worst dance, and she definitely got the character right.

But she did have timing and sychronicity problems - the clip they slowed down for Jen's Lens really showed that up.

It is constructive. All you have to do to strenthen your core is work on stomach and back exercises and to focus on pulling yourself into the correct stance throughout the dance.

I wish you youngsters would stop saying she's good for her age. There are 1000s of women in their 60s and 70s who can still dance etc. I'm 70 and am still very supple, can touch my toes - well actually touch the floor with the flat of my hands, still dance, do aerobics with 40 year olds etc. I know I'm lucky not to have had any health problems, but I'm not alone.

Apart from that I think Anita's legs do look odd when she's dancing and skipping around like she was on Saturday. I don't know if it's because she doesn't point her toes, or because she doesn't have ankles, well obviously she does but her legs are the same width from her knees to her ankles.

I still much prefer her to Lulu, at least she's putting 100% effort into her training.

Anita is an inspiration - just look at her energy. I do think she has real work to do to become a dancer, rather than just learning to dance though.

I really like Anita and she has a lovely partnership with Robin. Her Charleston wasn't perfect but it certainly wasn't terrible.

She'd obviously worked very hard and seems to be loving the whole experience.

I thought Anita danced the Charlston well, it suited her personality.

The Charleston was Anita's dance that I have enjoyed the most. A few timing and sharpness issues, but overall really captured the flavour of the dance and kept going right to the end.

Good routine by Robin.

I agree that the charleston suited her style. But to my untrained eye, that was because she has been using some of the same bizarre leg placements in other dances. So, finally getting the charleston, it looked "right".
I'm sorry, I like her as a person, and admire her enthusiasm, but she has often looked a bit ungainly and rather strange to me.

Come on now, don't be a joke, Anita is doing a pretty great job and is deserving of her spot, and I think she should go further. True, some dances haven't been as good, but this Charleston was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very deserving of 31. She is a good dancer, and has potential to make it to the coveted prize, but she needs to step it up just that bit more. And I get so pissed at people who say, 'stop saying she is an inspiration'. Well guess what: ANITA IS 63 AND SHE IS AN INSPIRATION NO MATTER WHAT YOU BLOOMIN' SAY. She doesn't exersize the fact she is that age, but she has every right to those types of comments. At 63, alot of people couldn't do that, but she is doing it so leave it out!

Strange... this was the first week I was kind of impressed by Anita's dancing. I've always loved her personality and partnership with Robin, but found the dancing a bit lacklustre. This week was her week, or so I thought. Different folks, though...

I'm 19, by the way, and to me she is an inspiration.
To me, its almost like people of a mature age, see Anita dancing, getting comments like: 'your an inspiration', and their reply is to say that they wish people would stop saying that,
because many people are like her and still can dance at 70, well I commend you, but Anita is on telly so we see her doing it and that's what you think when you see her on the telly. I almost think that is a reason for some of these comments!

Yep that's how I feel. Just because Anita gets called an inspiration, it is not to say that other people dont dance, or are active, in their 60s, 70s, or 80s, but its just she inspires people because we see her on tv each week. I dont see why that shouldnt be said - many people long to take up dancing but often think 'it's too late for me', my mums the same age as Anita and that's how she thinks as she's never really danced in her life, she's perfectly fit/healthy but feels she's missed that time in life when she should have done these things -seeing somebody else of her age learning to dance and have such fun reminds her it's never too late to learn something new. Anita is inspiring for people of all ages, as she has such enthuasiam and passion for everything that she does, it's lovely to see somebody get such enjoyment out of dancing. She completely throws herself into every dance, without worrying if she's made mistakes or moaning about anything..everybody could take a leaf out of her book imo.

I am a Physical Therapist so please don't preach at me about what you just need to do, OK? Especially as you clearly do not know what core strength really is based on your response

Maybe when you are 25 its as easy as that .At 62 its not all that easy to "just " strenghten your core .,

What an awful, bitter post. It's hardly Alesha or Anita's fault your mum is crippled and a similar age to Anita.

She's not perfect but she's giving it a damn good try and takes everything in good humour ... you should take a hint, perhaps?

I agree. It's so patronising to older people. They aren't all at deaths door!
