Louise Berridge is gone!
Mal Young is gone!
The crappy Berridge-sidekick has been replaced by a NEW Series Producer!
We have a new executive Producer who has worked wonders at Holby City
She's scrapped the Xmas Storyline which would have been Zonnis/Shannis.
She's revamping the show to portray life in the East End of London more accurately and clearing out useless cast.
She's vowed to have the show back on top by Christmas and is already working on new storylines.
She's reportedly axing the WHOLE Ferreira family plus TEN OTHERS.
Episodes are being reduced to 3 a week - quality will certainly rise
So c'mon guys, you have to look at it optimistically - EastEnders is going to be good again, and its only a matter of time. Anything's better than the mess LB put us in, so look at it in a good way!

I for one cannot wait for KH to get her teeth well and truly into the production of EastEnders tomorrow when she officially starts - it's going to be brilliant!

Who's with me in thinking that EastEnders' low is OVER in terms of production (I know we have a few months more of LB) and things are looking up?

A very sensible post there - lets hope that it all works out. Bye bye Fererias

I agree with what you've said itsjay, but I do think the 'having it back on top by Christmas' is being extremely optomistic. Considering they film about 6 weeks in advance LB's and MY's influence is still heavily there into about mid-November, leaving about 6 weeks until Xmas, that's not long to revamp an entire show, clear out the deadwood get new plots and characters in place, and have the results showing consistantly on screen. I'm hoping this all works, but I reckon any real and consistant changes in quality will be kicking in mid to end of January.

Yes, the Ferreira's should be on their last legs now.

I've just had a thought - I think the reason the episodes are being cut is partly due to the fact that they have to reshoot and rewrite lots of episodes. To avoid it being rushed that is the solution!

I know what you mean! Its just I'm not that good at getting things accross it is easier for me to say it rather than writing it down.

Yuppers!!!!

Jay, you can be a member of... *drumroll* The Choco & Co. EE Production Team !!!!

Basically, clever EE fans that are better at making storylines than the current crap writers and the peeps that know what's best for the show.

Nice name eh Will? Be glad it isn't Nigel Lovers Inc.

Having less episodes is not a guarantee of improved quality. It could be that the 12 episode stories/plots will now be spread over 4 weeks instead of 3 weeks as at present.

A Sunday newspaper critic says the problem with EE is the writers, and that they should be sacked, but this is unfair. The writers are given the story to write the script from, so it's the people who make up the stories who should be sacked. They're useless and just keep rehashing old stories. Remember Michelle going out with her tutor, just like Vicki? And Martin and Sarah is just Fatal Attraction.

I'll wait to see what Kathleen does before i pass judgement.
But EE can DEFINATLY be salvaged, no doubt about it. Character driven drama, conflict, social clashes, histories. Its all embedded in Julia & Tony's original Walford bible. All it needs is to be delved into.
Have hope people.

I watch C.Street, E.Dale & EE. & I honestly don't know what all the fuss is over EE. All soaps go through ups and downs and I don't think it's as bad as people say it is.

It seems to become fashionable to slag off certain programmes, including all the main soaps from time to time.

I might be on my own but I don't mind the Ferreiras all that much. I just can't stand Pauline Fowler anymore...

I argee It is not as bad as what people say but because Eastenders was on top form for 18 top years and during that time EE had the best acting best writing and best Characters than any other soap, so as soon as it hits a bad patch people can not take it.

I'm sorry Choco but where was the memo you sent to me informing me of our meeting to discuss the name of our Production Team? Well seeing as I'm Executive Producer I'll allow you choose the name lol

Choco & Co it is then! hurrahh!

I would NOT have agreed to Nigel Lovers though, even if I am gay! I'd axe him first! lmao
