Appears there may be some disappointed Desire and Desire HD owners out there.

I have the HTC EVO 3D so am pleased for once a manufacturer isn't dumping a device I bought within a month or so, as has happened in the past.

Although reading the HTC UK Facebook posting about this today, there are a lot of annoyed Desire HD owners.

ETA: The OPs link deals with HTC in the US. HTC UK revealed on its Facebook page the upgrades would be applied to the HTC Sensation (XE, XL) and HTC EVO 3D, along with a few US only phones.

Those with rooted phones will still be expectant though of a custom ROM.

My Desire S runs on a modded Sensation XL rom and it is the bees knees. XDA Developers are going to get their hands on the dumped Galaxy Nexus ROM in due course so whatever HTC say in an official statement makes no difference to me anyway.

HTC updated its list tonight.

HTC Sensation & HTC Sensation XE at end of March, Sensation XL soon after.

HTC Incredible S, Desire S and Desire HD to come later.

EVO 3D owners would be better advised to not look to keep their blood pressure down. Although its listed, the EVO 3D upgrade, due to what I believe is poor sales, is likely to be delayed indefinitely. That generally means from past experience = not happening.

Damn, because I have an EVO 3D.

The EVO 3D was supposed to be one of the first to get it, in early 2012. This move by HTC effectively delays it indefinitely. The EVO 3D has had its price plummet in the last month to £250, heading toward the price of low end HTC handsets which are not getting ICS, because I suspect, the EVO 3D has been a massive flop for HTC. The EVO 3D late last year was prominent on the HTC UK website as one of its flagship phones, now it's well hidden away and you have to look for it. I've had devices where this tactic has been done before - internet radios, set-top-boxes and so forth, and the general rule is that once a company drops the price because of poor sales and delays firmware upgrades, support for that device is dropped soon afterwards.

If the EVO 3D does get ICS before Summer 2012, or at all, I'll be surprised.
