Febreze enquiry

Has anyone heard of Febreze being the cause of a bad reaction in cats? Just trying to rule out causes of baldness in my cat. Vet stumped.

It can do. I dont like the plug in things either. My guinness always seems too itch if i have anything plug in as well. Has he been near any washing powder. Pink grapefruit washing up liquid from asda makes one of my cats completley bald. He might be allergic as well too a food ingrediant. Has he had any allegy test for it.

not yet, he gets so terrified at the vet, thought I'd try cutting out the Febreze for a bit see if it makes a difference then taking him back if it doesn't help. Thanks for your thoughts, interesting.

If it cheers you up at all, we brought in a stray who promptly went bald, then all her hair suddenly grew back and now shes fine. I think we weren't letting her out enough and she got a little stressed.

Febreze is awful for allergies, and allergies can cause hair loss.

Anything can cause that sort of problem if the cat is allergic to it. And to be honest I don't find a need for anything like Febreze - the house is clean, the litter tray gets cleaned, and no-one smokes, and as I have mild asthma I avoid sprays of all kinds. I would struggle without biological washing powder, would try a 'sensitive' version if it seemed it might be causing problems.
