in the past i dont think cowell cared as such who won or who people voted for because he got the phone in money anyway. he's more bothered about losing 2.5 million viewers. however, if a duff winner damages the brand further, i'm sure cowell will care.

the trouble for me is that this year i couldnt care less who won or who went home

My opinion is that Gary is doing a bad job by being pretty blatantly untruthful. I don't feel like he's protecting Frankie because it helps Frankie, but because he's too embarrassed to admit he backed someone who can't sing.

What the other judges do with their time is irrelevant to this topic. I don't think pushing Frankie's "jack the lad" image is a good one to push, and I don't think he's being given the best song choices for his voice, either. You keep replying to things I've not said, like "as for the voting him through... how is that Gary's fault?". I haven't said anything about that. But since you brought it up, how about the fact he gave praise to his own act which he later admitted was a lie?

I don't agree with this. It's the mentor's job to be realistic and supportive, not just lie to you while the real world dislikes you. I've posted on other threads saying I actually feel bad for Frankie. You don't seem to understand that it's possible to think Gary is doing a bad job/is unsuited to this TV judging role and still have empathy for his acts.

This isn't the thread to discuss other judges, this is a thread about Gary. I haven't said I particularly like the other judges, have I? Louis is the best of a bad bunch, this year. Gary, for me, is the worst. And no matter what you say about other people lying, it was absolutely awful of Gary to sit there and say he lied about his own act.

And lastly, since you're replying to these posts, I'd say you're taking this about as seriously as I am. ”

Well as you say...Opinions are just subjective...So we'll go with that

WOW deluded much....This all leads back to $imon Cowell...What did he say "Bad publicity is still Publicity"...Also we all know if the 'God' was back and had Frankie he'd ramp him up to 11.....'Rose tinted glasses' much...Gary's just working with what he's got...$imon Cowell orchestrates the whole thing...Louis maintains it...Then the Winner is used and abused if he wasn't in Cowells category, or Cowell wasn't championing him/her...No skin of Cowell's nose...Just moves on to the next victim and continues to manipulate the media and the audience, and clearly only knows how to make money and hasn't a clue about music....And people want him back...WOW short memory here

Yes of course this is down to the puppet master but paying a million quid to a judge that is more and more out of his depth with his own act needs sorting and I do believe Mr cowel sorted it.

Gary has 3 acts..He's the only judge that was able to maintain 3 acts...You crucify him for 1 out of control Kid...What about Craig? Marcus? and Gary's out of his depth...You must mean Tulisa...There's a car crash of a judge

But he obviously didn't maintain one of them. I just think Frankie has been a bit of an unwitting pawn in all of this. Who the hell was it that built this kid's hopes up by telling him he was great? Not the kid himself. The producers and the judges did that by letting him get as far as the second round. From JH's point onwards - this is all Gary Barlow's fault.

I'm not that fond of her - but Tulisa (apart from bully-gate) hasn't put a foot wrong as a judge and has done the best by her acts - far more so than Gary. You mention Craig and Marcus - they hardly needed controlling now did they? They were tucked up in bed with their cocoa and Beano's safely every night - there was no need to bother much with them.

You talk about crucifying Gary - I'm sorry - but what rot! Gary can walk away from this unscathed - it'll all be forgotten well before the next series of XF comes along. Frankie has to live with this for a good deal longer.

The point I was trying to make was Simon cowel controls every part of this show and todays developments will have been down to him and yes however bad Frankie was no one deserves the way this has been done and if Gary has any dignity he will walk away from this when its finished.

No - there are lots of things Gary isn't to blame for. The recent bad weather, the fiasco with the Euro, the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

With regard to XF however - he promised something he couldn't deliver. He's just a seat warmer. But his biggest offence is he's bloody boring. Frankie was his one claim to 'not being boring' and now he's gone!

Opinions are subjective....I don't find him boring...and i must of been watching a different programme than you....The only one who showed their ineptitude on Rock Week was Tulisa, and she was called out for it live on air, and her response showed she had no idea what she was doing...She now has 1 act left...Yes she's such a good mentor

And yes Gary did maintain his 3 acts...Frankie had his antics...but still learned his performances, and was there every week to perform them ...albeit badly...Gary maintained 3 acts until one was booted for gross stupidity....Brian from east 17 ring a bell...But Gary did his job....no histrionics like the other judges....Was there for all of his acts throughout the competition and other judges acts too....Remained consistent since day 1...Didn't 'vilify' contestants live on air...or resort to personal insults to get a rise out of others....

If you wanna blame anyone for Frankie's antics...point the finger at his parents....He's been like this a long time...even before the X factor....You just don't like Gary...That's fine..you're entitled to hate him, but take off the hate spectacles for one moment and see credit where credits due

Everytime I say anything negitive about you on here I am accused of disliking you which couldn't be farther from the truth.
However I do think you messed up with Frankie.

1 you should never have put him through
2 you should never have lied about his performance.
3 you should never have encouraged his bad boy behaviour.

And the reason you should have left well alone is the person that is going to suffer most from all of this is Frankie he should never have been given that kind of exposure.
You may have thought you had control but the only person with any real say is Simon and when Simon says enough they dump him so my advice to you is stay well away if xfactor gets another year that kid was a mess when this started I can't imagine what way it will end up for him.
