Considering how much the tickets cost, I'm quite disappointed that most of the pros won't be on the tour. Unless they bring back some of the original pros. Still hoping that Ian might be part of the tour.

Im starting to wonder if some of the old celebs might have been tempted back (ie Aled or Matt Dawson - but said they would only if they danced with their original partners, ie possibly Lilia with Matt and thus Ola in this instance wouldnt be needed.

I suppose we won't know what goes on behind the scenes until the actual line up is revealed.

I doubt this decision was taken because of the outburst either but I dont think some of James' actions this year and in previous years have helped.

This will be a business decision made by the organizers around which celebs are able to take part. If the celeb can't do it then the pro won't be asked to take part.

Other posters have pointed out that several pros no longer take part in the tour - or indeed have ever done the tour.

Ok, so the tour this year will probably consist of:

Artem and Aliona
Robin and Kristina
Pasha and Katya
Natalie
...

Not really much of a tour is it? Considering Anton, Erin, Brendan, Flavia and Vincent, and now the Jordans aren't involved... it's only 3 professional pairings, unless Flav and Vince are tempted away from the West End (unlikely) Or likewise Anton, Erin and Brendan from their own shows...
Not sure Katya does the tour either.

Natalie danced with Artem on the last tour which would mean Aliona dancing with Pasha if they are taking part.

Flavia, Brendan and Erin don't do the SCD tour - Flavia has done it in the past but now she has her own show with Vincent - Brendan and Erin/Anton have their own shows too and they've never done the SCD tours. That's the reason I went to see Midnight Tango because I never got to see Flavia & Vincent on the SCD tour.

I'm sad for the Jordans - they're not my favourite dancers/choreographers but I've grown to like them as characters on SCD and I enjoyed seeing them on tour this year. I suppose all good things have to come to an end sometime and nobody is indispensible but as has been said I am surprised they are still doing the SCD tour - what with Ola being a previous champ and her stage presence I would have thought like the other established pros they'd have backers for their own tour/show by now.
I don't think they have the pulling power of the Pros who tour alone.

Aliona with Pasha?! I think he'll run for the trees!

Read it somewhere... cant remember where.... then it was put on here (about July?).

And I think Katya tweeted something slightly cynical about it...

I don't think they have the pulling power of the Pros who tour alone.
I know people are divided about James but I thought Ola was quite popular - she's an ex champ and she's even got her own calendar out this year - as I said earlier they're not my favs but I do like them.
I've had a suspicion for a while now that the Jordans won't be back next year. They've served the longest, apart from the 3 pros who seem entirely part of the furniture, along with Vincent and Flavia, who I have similar doubts about. I think it'd be a big mistake to drop them (love him or hate him, James brings controversy and therefore press coverage and ratings, Ola's a sweetheart and Vincent & Flavia are very popular), but I have a suspicion that if Strictly returns next year it'll be another massive, potentially ill-advised, shakeup.

I'm sad J&O aren't on the tour though, it really only leaves 2 pro dancers I'd pay to see in the line-up. And I've met both James and Ola and thought they were lovely - Ola especially is very sweet - and always enjoy watching them dance together. None of the partnerships left have the same kind of chemistry, for obvious reasons!
I hope it's not the beginning of the end for James, Ola, Flavia and Vincent from SCD tv series. James and Ola I could just about accept but would still be sad but Flavia and Vincent I would be heartbroken I know there will have to be a time when the BBC let them go but I hope they keep them on for at least another year! The BBC should look at whats happened to the X-factor and the folly of making too many changes at once!

I'm glad I've not booked tickets for the SCD tour now - I think I'll save my money and see Flavia and Vincent again and the pro tour that's been talked about if it ever materialises and theres an interesting line up.

She's got plenty of pulling power for me.
Say no more
James actually made Hamela bearable last year.
Getting a bit porky is she?

Unfortunately - they are not "sacked" - just Not Contracted for the Tour!! They only have a contract for the individual event. i.e. for Strictly, for the Pro Tour, for the Pro-Sleb Tour, etc. with no guarantee of re-engagement in ANY subsequent "event". Very much hand-to-mouth and no security, but it IS the way of things in the Meeeja.

Who can fathom the mind of Moira Ross?????

It is not unknown for a Sleb to change Pro for the tour. Also, Alex has commitments next spring on the One Show.

Dissapointed.

More likely, both have got tv commitments that prevent them taking part.

A bit off to tell them by email. Maybe they were too scared of James' reaction to tell him in person!

Neither of them has a particularly likeable celeb, so it might just be a practical decision.
Can't agree with that, Alex comes across as a pretty likeable, friendly, natural and no-nonsense. She seems less gushy and less 'rehearsed' in her rhetoric than the rest. I'm starting to get rather tired of every single celeb uttering, at every single opportunity, their PR aware 'I'm having so much fun... blah blah blah'. Alex says it also, but her inflection seems rather genuine and less scripted.

Robbie on the other hand, meh.

Of course not - how could they?!

Pros don't always partner their own celebs - Ola danced with Colin Jackson last year, for example.

At least the tour is looking a bit better with Holly and Harry touring
