I know he was found not guilty and he has passed on. However im afraid I cannot listen to him anymore. I know of at least two people who were abused as children and they also cannot bear the sight of him.

*Hides In Trenches*

Anyway, I only listen to some old Jackson 5 stuff and MJ's OTW, Thriller and Bad.

You just have to read the last few pages on the other thread about him here to see how nutty some of his fans are.

Jacko fans are mental. Watching the news just now with the fans outside the LA court I'm thinking the Wacko name was misplaced. It should be used to refer to his fans.
They appear to have confused a guy who made 3 great albums in the late 70's and 80's then spent the last 20 years of his life becoming a massive joke with steadily worse albums, with the second coming of Christ.

Yeah, I've just seen footage of people fainting, etc. How sad can you really get?

His fans are crazy, I can't believe some of his real die hard fans committed suicide when they found out he had passed away. But without a doubt he is a legend with a fantastic back catalogue and performance skills

In the past 1000 years many great pieces of art have been created by talented people who have behavioured even more unsavoury than MJ.

Billie Jean, Thriller, Rock With You, Smooth Criminal, Black & White, I Want You Back, etc are still great pop records; just like the 1960s songs produced by Phil Spector; etc

To be honest I'm much more put off by his fruit and nutcase fans obscenely zealous behaviour to very valid criticism of their idol (my goodness they make the Britney fans of five years ago, or the extreme Bieber & GaGa fans look positively chilled out in comparison), than MJ's past behaviour.

but he was found not guilty?
there wasnt enough evidence.
i find it bizarre that people can judge the man, even though they dont really know him.
yes i know theres always ''doubt'', but what exactly would make you think the accusations were true?
did jordy chandler not admit he made it all up and he is now in hiding, and that was on the case where jacko paid him off!

They were doing the world a favour and watching the telly now it seems Dr Murray did us all a favour.

I'm sorry but if a 44 year old man across the road from you said this openly in an interview as MJ did, then would you think it is acceptable:

Because I sure as hell think it is inappropriate, and that is putting it mildly.

Fair enough but its the thought of a grown man of 45 in bed with young boys (he admitted this on TV) that I find very uncomfortable.

So if there wasn't enough evidence then there was evidence, just not enough for a conviction. Hardly a ringing endorsement.

Why think about abuse whilst listening to music that isn't about it

Yes but If I went down the street singing "You wanna be in my gang" to myself I think people would get rather pissed with me.

Sure, it was definately inappropriate for him to have children in his bed, and people will ask questions when you behave like that, but people forget that this is a man who had his childhood torn away from him at a young age, beaten by his own father, and displayed in many ways that in his older years he was trying to reclaim that lost childhood, and indeed had the mind of a child in many aspects, such a fragile soul. It doesn't justify in any way what he did, but it puts things into perspective.

Troubled and childlike - yes
Dangerous paedophile - no

Exactly - Jerry Lee Lewis married a 14 year old. Controversy at the time, but he's still seen as a legend

And Elvis was in a relationship with Priscilla when she was just 14. She also later said that he had raped her at one point. That's all swept under the carpet though.

no its very weird, and bizarre. and thats what i thought at the time.
i never though, at any point thought ''that means michael was molesting these kids''. for starters, if he was, hes hardly going to admit to sleeping in the same bed as kids on national tv
to me its pretty clear he had issues, mainly down to the fact he got no childhood himself. hence his love of a childs company.

Of course I can listen to Jacko as I can Gary Glitter and Jonathan King. Their personal lives don't bother me as it's about the music.

I never understood people that go mad and start obsessing over pop stars and scream about them. With young girls I can kind of accept it, because they'll grow out of it, but when there's middle-aged men doing it, as there was at the announcement of Jacko's gigs at Wembley, it just seems very strange.
