Thanks Annie ! I'd never have thought Jason Donovan would do SCD,but maybe I raised the bar a bit into 'B' Celeb list territory with the names you mentioned as unlikelies,but it'd be great if David Tennant did SCD at some point.

Here are some blokes I'd like to see on SCD. More difficult to think of men because women are generally better at dancing (and singing for that matter) than men

One big name - Jake Shears (Scissors Sisters) Bet he’d be a class act on the dance floor

I think Maria Filippov would be too much of a ringer. She's not a figure skater, like Kristi Yamaguchi or Evan Lysacek when they were on Dancing with the Stars. Maria's ice skating discipline is ice dance, the origin of which is ballroom dancing on ice, so she would have had ballroom training to do the compulsory dances in ice dance competition. Torvill & Dean were also ice dancers and their Paso Doble and Rumba are still regarded as the definitive versions of these dances on ice.

What I would like to see for Children in Need or Comedy/Sports Relief is a DOI/SCD crossover, with the SCD pros skating and the DOI pros dancing. That has potential to be amazing.

Memmh, do you remember that the Beeb tried Strictly Ice Dancing but dropped the idea? However they didn't have the crossover of pros - Lilia would have been a shoo-in for that

I'd quite like to see John Torode, Boris Becker and the American runner who comentates on Athletics for the BBC (my husband suggested him). Tom Ellis is another good call.

I'd love Sue Perkins to do it but don't think she would embrace the sequins and frocks side of things and I fear a more androgynous look is a step too far for War Drobe. I'll settle for Mel Giedroyc (sp???) instead. Claire from Steps too, she can treat it as a diet plan and realise that not all exercise has to be punishing.

I think Dan Whiston was the only pro who moved from Strictly Ice Dancing to DOI. Lilia would be brilliant for a crossover like that

Cruel for Vincent and Debra. Debra would be very good and she's a better impressionist than most.

Carley is now really good at the dancing in Legally Blonde and there's lots of it - she can act too.

Helen Skelton might do well - but there's all the other Blue Peter girls - not least Zoe Salmon who had most of the right abilities in DOI but was a better build height wise for SCD.
