The Dark Side of Jimmy Saville

Reports on twitter state that the sun is going to be shortly running some stories about the dark side of Jimmy Saville which reminded me of the Nolans Documentary

See 3minutes 30 seconds in. Colleen, whilst on top of the pops aged 14 was not that happy with him. Neither were her sister.

THIS is the moment when a normally mild-mannered Nolan sister almost turned nasty.

Coleen Nolan revealed the horror she felt when she was intimately cuddled by TV presenter Jimmy Savile as a young teenager on Top Of The Pops.

Now aged 43 and a panelist on ITV1's Loose Women, Coleen says Maureen, Anne, Bernie and Linda - performing as The Nolan Sisters - glowered at the then 53-year old Savile as he held Coleen tightly under her right breast. Footage of the incident was shown on a BBC2 documentary We Are Family, which was broadcast on Saturday, December 6.

Coleen, who had been an audience guest on that 1979 edition of TOTP, a year before joining her family's group, said: "I stood next to Jimmy.

"I was 14, and he was all over me.

"I could see my sisters glaring: 'You touch her and we'll kill you!' "And they would have."

They say that you can't liable the dead don't they. You would have thought if anything is going to be said they would have waited till the man was burried.

Yep, the mud slinging has started.
Just as well he's dead, cos they couldn't afford the court cases if he were alive.

No, you can't libel the dead. However, with all the unsubstantiated rumours that have been floating around for years, I'd expect people to put their money where their mouths are.

Something tells me that most of it is bunkum.

Not THAT dark, then. A bit gropey, a bit inappropriate, a bit sad. Nothing we didn't know already.

If you are different you get picked on. That is a lesson that most of us learn in the school playground.

From the Nolan person: "I could see my sisters glaring: 'You touch her and we'll kill you!' "And they would have."

One must assume, then, that he didn't touch her, because the sisters didn't kill him.

Quote:
Born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, Savile was conscripted as a Bevin Boy, working in the coal mines during the war.

Away from broadcasting, he was noted for his charity work, running 200 marathons and raising £40m over the years.

He was a volunteer at the hospital and ran more than 200 marathons for various charitable organisations.

Sir Jimmy raised £20m for the creation of the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, in 1983 after a storm damaged wooden huts which had housed spinal cord injury patients.

A spokeswoman for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, said Sir Jimmy would be missed by staff and patients, adding: "He was tireless in his attempts to fundraise for the hospital and was integral in the creation of the National Spinal Injuries Centre that we have today."

Savile was knighted by the Queen in 1990 for his charity work.

Well I did comment on a few threads last week and all the doubters were appealing that if there was anything nasty about Savile, now was the time to come forward. Looks like you may have your wish.

And if youre a nasty person in life you'll still be a nasty person when you die.

So what exactly was the nasty thing that he did to the Nolan? He put his arm round her and she felt uncomfortable? Was it just what was shown in the video linked to in the opening post? If so, was that a big deal, because it doesn't seem so to me? Tactless, inconsiderate and a bit foolish no doubt, but no more than that.

If the PMS I received last week were anything to go by, that is just the very tip of the iceberg

LOL

All dogs must be kept on a leash to avoid undue Nolan worrying.

Colleen has always seemed a tad odd to me......didn't she pay for her 16 year old son to 'visit' a prostitute for his first time? Took him to Amsterdam AFAIR.

So the PMs were just gossip, then, and not something you'd feel confident about repeating on a public forum.

Ah well.

Apparently she had promised to do so, anyway.

Shane 'disgusted' by ex-wife's sex promise to son

EastEnders star Shane Richie said he was "disgusted and appalled" with his ex-wife after she promised their son sex with a prostitute if he passed his GCSEs.

Mother-of-three Coleen Nolan revealed her plan to pay for 16-year-old Shane Jr's sex trip to Amsterdam on ITV1 daytime show Loose Women.

The former Nolans singer, 40, also told the shocked audience she had given her fiancé Ray Fensome permission to have a one-night stand during the proposed trip...

Well, I guess we'll find out one way or the other. Speculation and rumour seem in slightly poor taste at this moment in time, though. (And I say that as someone who found him quite scary).

How does any of this negate Savile's behaviour towards her? And this was caught on film and it's her behaviour that's being questioned, so it's not hard to imagine how a lot more difficult it would have been for more vulnerable children to come forward and seek justice if any abuse did take place. Especially those from children's homes like Jersey.
