The David Icke forums are very scary and full of the most blind crap I have ever read.

Just as well he's dead, cos they couldn't afford the court cases if he were alive.

Guys, it's not like nobody ever said a word against him when he was alive. These rumours have been going around for DECADES, he was definitely someone people were warned about.

Honestly, why you would think somebody who goes 'owowowowow' and hangs around with hospitals with an unlit cigar in his mouth is weird is beyond me.

I thought frumpy Colleen should be grateful that she got a bit of a touch up from Sir Jim, and anyway, after years of trudging around the the Irish showbiz circuit [ and being HUGE in the sexual weirdness that is Japan ] The Nolan Sisters would have been no strangers to lechery, inappropriate suggestions and unwanted attentions.

Methinks they doth protest too much.

There are far more stories about Mr. Saville than Colleen Nolan, stories which are a lot more sinister and disturbing. A simple google search brings up quite a lot.

On David Icke's forums? I'm shocked I tell you!

I heard one of JS's best friends talking about him on the radio today and he said that 'What you saw is what you got'. Jimmy described himself as 'very ordinary'.

If they've been around for so long you'd have thought that someone would have come up with absolute proof of their accuracy by now and challenged him over the allegations.

Seems there isn't.

He did say to Louis Theroux in his documentary he liked young girls, and immediately said afterwards "legal girls".

Very bizarre statement to make.

Indeed. What the stories I've seen always seem to lack, though, is any convincing proof that Saville was up to no good. They tend to rely on things like the way he shook hands with Frank Bruno in some newspaper picture, or the fact that he was photographed decades ago with some children from a children's home. Two and two are then put together, and usually seem to make about 6.9.

What there is in this thread seems to matter not a jot: Saville puts his arm round a young girl in a television studio in full view of the cameras. I'm not finding myself outraged.

I don't believe that. He may have been humble but anyone who's raised over £40 million for charity is anything but ordinary.

Well, he said it about himself and if his Leeds flat is anything to go by, he wasn't very flash. I met him once in a very ordinary cafe with a very ordinary looking friend, so maybe when he was with his friends he was pretty ordinary?

I'm not denying that, just saying that "ooh, people are waiting till he's dead to say nasty things, how cowardly" is, you know, not true.

He was undoubtedly an eccentric and a very odd man in quite a number of ways, but I know of no convincing evidence that he was a bad man (though that doesn't mean it doesn't exist). However, as you say, on the other hand there's plenty of evidence that he tried to raise money for charities and was very successful in doing so,

How come he never got any shit for always smoking cigars?

(Maybe he did. I dunno. I'm not an expert or anything).

It was Bruno that shook the Yorkshire Rippers hand. Saville was in the background.

What do you mean by that? I'm not spinning anything, but I'm just a bit bored with the character assassination of someone on what seem like pretty feeble grounds. The allegation of course was that Bruno and Saville exchanged a Masonic handshake*, but the evidence for that seemed feeble, and being a Mason isn't a crime anyway.

An earlier DS thread about it:

http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showt...ight=handshake

I found it far from convincing — indeed pretty silly — but maybe you might regard it differently.

ETA: Yes, I have got that wrong, and the picture was of Bruno and Sutcliffe, as KidPoker says.

Rumours of Saville's interest in young girls have been doing the rounds for decades, now that he's dead and not in a position to sue, such rumours will be resurrected and spread like wildfire.

Ah, fair enough then - I thought you were leaving out Sutcliffe on purpose to make it all sound less freaky.
