They were all rex cats. Devon and Cornish Rex cats all have short, very soft, wavy/curly fur which can sometimes be very thin, compared to other cats so they all looked well cared for and were meant to look like that as far as their fur was concerned.

Personally I was appalled at the two people shrieking their heads off when they went into the bedroom, where most of the cats had clearly been put out of the way, and terrifying the cats!

And how do you think humans managed before toilet paper ? previous options were not so hygienic.

Cats are incredibly clean animals

They got on my nerves! They would of been told that the cats were in there, but they still went into the room. The Woman really got on my nerves. When she said she was attacked by a cat in Peckham, I said GOOD!

I didn't see this one so can't comment on the 10 cats, but again I would agree it's down to size of property/owner time.

BUT on the subject of CDWM what an absolute TIT the irritating woman who won on the long saturday afternoon one was (from Doncaster).

One lady had a cat (SHUT AWAY) upstairs and she gets all flustered and upset saying she's terrified of them, get a f*****g grip!!! She only won because she marked everyone else so unfairly low... rant/ lol

it really annoys me on CDWM and four in a bed when people cheat and mark everyone else down so they win

It seems a real flaw in the system that they can do that ., although once on CDWM one woman was so blatant about it that they made her re mark everyone higher

The people in yesterday's Come Dine With Me (in which dinner was served in the home of the owner of ten cats) appear in today's Come Dine With Me - and there will be further references to cats in today's programme (Channel Four 5.30 pm to 6 pm and Channel Four +1 6.30 pm to 7 pm).

10 cats would be too much in my place for sure.... As others say though if you live is a massive house with oodles of space then it's not so many cats

Anyone, cat owner or not, who doesn't wipe down their kitchen surfaces with disinfectant before preparing/eating food off them is a disgusting pig. But don't worry, you're not on my dinner guest list anyway.

And before that, bundles of grass or leaves, but I HAVE heard that hands could sometimes be used!! However, all my studies of social history have failed to show that licking one's own a**e was a common way for humans to clean themselves.

As opposed to dogs that eat poop, or my mothers dog that after that had been outside to do it's business used to come in and drag it's arse across the carpet, I suppose?

I agree. I love animals but would never, ever have one in my home. Hair, dirty paws, doggy smell (especially when wet eewwwwwww!) food and water bowls laying around in kiichen, poo in garden. Sorry, but there is no way you can have a hygienic home with cats and dogs.

Same could be said for kids. I've gotten more bugs from kids than I've ever had from a pet. Kids drag mud and god knows what else on them into the house. In fact the same could be said for adults. What's on our feet, our hands etc when we come in from a day at work? I find my hair all over the house. It's not unhygienic....it's life. That's why we clean.

I agree, it all depends on the circumstances.

If I had the time and space i'd have a houseful!

I would have no problem at all at being regarded as one of those mad eccentric cat owners when it is time for me to retire!

I have voted "I am undecided on this subject so far" as that option is closest to my viewpoint

It's often not possible to stop them. I can as I don't allow them in the kitchen when i'm not there and keep the door closed at all times.

However, I have a friend who has cats in a ground floor flat.

Their access point is through the kitchen window, so they have to walk across the kitchen worktop. He always wipes down and disinfects the surfaces before using them though.

It is not impossible that a cat might decide to try to move in with you whether you think you have the time or space or not . I heard of one person who became owned by a cat which suddenly appeared in their garden and which then decided that the person's house would make a suitable feline residence.

True!!! I know of a lady who was once sat in her kitchen with the door open, as it was a nice day.

A black cat just walked in and proceeded to have kittens on her kitchen floor, obviously she was gobsmacked!

The cat simply looked at her as if to say "and?" "your problem is?"

It has lived there ever since!
