When they were obviously voted out for a reason

Because there aren't enough contestants unless they have a two person final, which they haven't done in years.

They'll probably just do a non-elimination week though. I'm almost certain of it!

this is a possibility but would most certainly result in loss of more viewers, only hardcore fans would tune in .. this weekend , as no reason to watch ...

Where's the fun in that though? They need a reason for people to watch, plus they get a lot of cash from a public vote.

Non-elimination week would make it even more dire, but bringing back someone who is already voted off is a bit naff. So its a no-win situation.

Well they've set a precedent this year by bringing back eliminated individuals and giving them a second chance as part of a group.... wouldn't at be surprised to see a new group parachuted in this weekend with some combination of the remains of the boybands??

Maybe to watch an entertainment show/listen to them sing. Don't know - just throwing it out there.

why a group ???

the only fair options would be ..

a boy to replace a boy

or johnny as he was not the bottom act the risk was

Cos there are not enough contestants now to fill up the time slot on TV and if anyone else gets ill or leaves or has a serious accident or something, they won't have enough people to make a programme with.

has to be johnny if they do - the risk werent even in the sing off.

Maybe Gary mentors Johnny?

You don't seriously think that the judges really 'benefit' from (or care about) having their acts in the competition? The only one who seems to give much of a damn about her acts this year is Tulisa; the others appear to be firmly in it for the paycheque.

& as for the thread topic, they have three main options - having a two-person final, having no elimination this week, or having an act brought back (possibly by public vote). Only the third of these seems likely to increase ratings & revenue, so why would they do the others?

Wouldn't work. Apart from the obvious (i.e. why bother watching), they couldn't do a Results show on Sunday because there would be no result. And they can't cancel the Sunday show because they have guest acts confirmed. Plus, they wouldn't be able to fill the time slot.

Why, he made a bad choice and other better acts lost out to Frankies fanbase and the redial button.

But isn't Tulisa only 1 of the 4 judges which isn't a millionaire? You'd think she would care about the money more than any of them.

I would add that the third is also the only one likely to generate controversy, which is the tried and true formula on this programme for stimulating ratings and revenue. So I would be surprised if they don't bring someone back.

I'm not critiquing the judges' motives, only their actions. From what we've seen so far in this series, Tulisa's the only one of the judges who spends a large amount of time with her contestants during the week & seems to treat it like a full-time job.

Yes, very true - especially as they've just lost their biggest source of controversy in Frankie.

I'm pretty certain that the judges' renumeration is in no way linked to how successful the people in their category are - otherwise you would find it hard to get takers for the groups and the overs! I don't think they have any stake in the winning act's future career as they belong totally to Syco.

Indeed. The problem is that show has now lost virtually all its interesting characters and if Kitty goes on Sunday - which she well might - it has lost all of them. Frankie is getting tons of headlines and everyone is talking about the show at last - problem is - will they tune in to the weekend shows to see - no Frankie I'm sure there is currently furore at the X Factor HQ as they struggle to come up with a plan to capitalise on the increased publicity. My personal fav would be an extra spin off show where they let all the people who left in the twist sing again for the public vote - and maybe throw in some people from earlier stages as well. Not sure if that would be feasible though ...

Yes, somebody else suggested this on here and I LOVE this idea! It would be great - no theme - nothing - just the booted off acts singing what they wanted to sing and us voting which one could come back!

I'll vote for that!
