Excellent ... that's the thing about cats - they take great delight in calling you a liar!

I don't think I've anyone over-dance quite as much as Mark Ballas did this year.

Apparently Kristina is working hard to get a 'connection' with Jason and find it difficult as far as the training clip is concerned. Imagine working to get close to a masterbrater.

That's one of the things I find with Kristina, she takes judge's comments way too seriously. Aliona ignores them completely and she takes them as gospel.

She's going to veer way too far towards performance and forget about the technique and is going to get criticised for it and go mental again!

She really needs to take on board what they're saying, but have faith in her ability and her teaching methods and know that her choreography suits Jason and then ensure he knows it well and can perform it to the best of his ability. That's all you can do and then you just have to let the judges do their job but realise it's just a show. How the hell did she perform in ballroom competitions?

She's missing the one factor she can't control - Greyson's desperation to win!

That's what comes across more than anything else when they dance - he oozes it and it is left behind like a slime trail.

As the competition go on, hopefully it will cancel out anything Kristina tries to counter it with!

No, I don't think Kristina will let Jason get away with the technical side of things. She's too clever a choreographer to do that (Aliona, I've given up on her). She said she's pushing Jason very hard (as far as technique is concerned) in this VW, even though there's only natural turns, reverse turn and flerkrl, three basic steps to do. She won't let Jason slip to just performance side of things. I think she's ambitious (she WANTS to win as well, make no mistakes about this), she wants Jason to nail BOTH the technique and performance of the dance. That's a tall order, but if you want any female pros to do it, it would have to be Kristina.

Ahhh, that's what Jan Raven's VW to isn't it, quickly followed by her rather hilarious 'I hope you're happy now!' to Craig when she got booted - I can but hope for a rerun

Or Natalie

Or Erin - or RealErin as she used to be before the week Austin was eliminated and she genuinely just gave up and put BotErin in her place.
Watching some of her early days choreography back and you can see the difference.
As ill conceived as the Colin show dance was, it was done with just that intention - to show how far he had come as a dancer and performer.

I'm so hoping Robbie gets booted off this week just before Wembley. For the lulz. I think he's the most likely candidate for a Jan Ravens meltdown myself.

That's cruel!

I hope Robbie gets booted at Wembley week, though. This week I am not sure who, maybe Audley. But I have been saying this for the past three weeks now.

But the thing I find with Kristina is she can't keep it in proportion. She gets completely caught up in what the judges say, she gets stressed and then gets completely insane with her celeb to try and get it "perfect". You can't have a perfect routine, there are going to be errors or weak points, it's how you cover them that's get you the marks.

The trouble is for me she gets really edgy and then passes that on to her celeb. What she needs to do is have faith and relax into this week and keep doing the same things she's been doing all along, but she's going to pass her stress onto Jason who is already very intense. Not a good mix imo.

I could be utterly wrong, but I think she needs to lighten up, she's already got a very intense celeb, making him even more intense is a huge mistake imo.

Maybe Jason is a gluten for punishment? *passes brain bleach around*

No seriously, I think Jason needs that. He's not going to relax, seeing he wants desperately to win the competition as well. Kristina tried to do the leg swing-y thing in the beginning but did it help Jason? Not a jot!

Think you mean glutton hun. Gluten is the stuff in bread.

But that competitiveness is ugly to lots of the viewers at home. If they feed off each other, he's going to lose. It might be great for the routine, but it's going to turn viewers off.

Jason needs someone laid back imo to bring out a fun side that he's not really showing. The most attractive (ewwwwwww) side to him was the Priscilla side when he visited the show. Kristina needs to remember that and not make him more intense than he already is.

You appreciate hard work and doing your best and you're not that bothered by personalities. But for lots of viewers, it's a popularity contest more than a dance competition, I give you Darren Gough and Chris Hollins as proof and Kristina needs to remember this and work to show his fun side and how well he takes criticism. Not start panicking and making the whole partnership even more intense. Just my opinion of course.

Gosh! Freudian slip! I'm making some gluten free cakes for ppl at work tomorrow!

Yeah, Jason is like gluten come to think of it. It's sticky and the main component that makes digestion difficult when people has gluten intolerance.

I went to have a read of the US boards on the ABC site a couple of weeks back (after Buddy mentioned how terrifying they are in comparison to DS). Loads of people were saying how much they loved having a pro now who was doing traditional choreography that was designed to show his partner off, as opposed to pros like Mark Ballas, who throws a lot of contemporary stuff in that is designed to show himself off but also highlights his partners weaknesses.

The US boards also had fan wars kicking off as early as week 3. Made me nostalgic for the old days of DS

I just read TWOP, figuring it to be the DS to ABC's BBC forums, so that is what was forming my view of what was being said - which is basically ^, but without the fanwars. But they do have a thread which is called "The Grassy Knoll" for a reason...

Ah, Mark Ballas. What a crazy little attention-grabber he is, overdancing everything to the point of parody.

Yeah, American Nancy is a piece of work. She largely held it together on DWTS, and has given Tristan loads of publicity on her own show, but she's an odd one.”

Even on DWTS Len is annoying and talks over everyone.

I have seen that desesperation since the beginning(and I dont like it).I also think that some viewers see that. From what I can see, the majority of the winners have been the celebs who first motivation to take part of the show was to tackle a new challenge, enjoy yourself(Mark, Alesha, Kara, Chris....).
The ones who were a little too desperate to win didnt make it very far(well they reach at least the final).
Anyway Im sure that Jason will reach the final.

When he was with the skater Kristina (is that her name) he was quite good. Maybe he's grown sick of DWTS?
