accidently started this thread in music games, although it could be a game where we all learn more about upcoming music and everyone wins lol

but anywhoo... weve all got those favourite bands that we only see in the pub, or on the local music circuit... so who are they?? not being one to travel too far mine are mostly local around the Manchester area... be interesting to see what other cities might have to offer

so whats everyone favourite unsigned artist?? they always need a lil extra support and exposure so 'll start the going with these three

Jeramiah Ferrari, amazing reggae/roots band from Manchester, guarantee to get a crowd on their feet with original tracks and classic reggae covers (a cover of Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen in love, in a reggae style... beautiful)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVhxzjXs4B0

Cale Lane - A collection of musicians i knew as a kid, literally just starting up so im really excited to see what they come up with....

and my number three Jessica's Ghost... theyve supported more signed bands than i could shake a stick at including Wombats (before they were famous) Cherry Ghost Noisettes Tynchy Stryder and The Charlatans...

So whos your fave unsigned band and why?

Will be making sure i check back here to see what upcoming music is in your area... and if you dont support your local unsigned bands, maybe you should pop down your local for a night of cheap live music as you might be surprised whats about, we dont all want to rely on Xfactor producing the rest of the emergng talent do we??

The Draytones, anglo-argentine band, they do gigs here and in Argentina as the lead singer is Argentine, and made the news with their controversial Los Malvinas/Falkland Islands show.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Na-TMIXHzy4 - Very late 60s vibe about them but they combine modern day influences well.

They are on MyMajorCompany and are funded entirely through fan donations - http://www.youtube.com/user/MyMajorCompanyUK - check out the other bands on there.

My absolute favourite unsigned act has to be IAMX. It's the solo project of Sneaker Pimps co-founder and former lead singer Chris Corner, and I could listen to him all day, whether it be his music or in interviews. I actually agree with a lot of what he says about the music business and definitely wouldn't like to see him as part of the mainstream.

I've only been to one gig, which was the Blackfield Festival in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on June 21, 2009, but it was AMAAAAAAAAAAAZING! Easily one of the greatest live acts I've ever seen.

@Domsetiques - i didnt say i hadnt heard them, but theyre working on some new stuff at the moment and the lil snippets i hve heard have got me pressing them for more lol Does 45flames do all his own production too?? very clean

@barrcode - that video is amazing,,, loving the super8 style... got a bit of a sound of the strokes, the drum skin with the UK and argetine flag skin is sweet

New street is very reggae type,, lyrically very engaging on "big AC" cheers @harveybest

Blossom - reminds me of velvet underground/ville valo (H.I.M) in their image, but the sound is such a contrast to the visual, just listened to Spit it out on youtube, sweet

see this what i love about unsigned acts... always something new out there you ahvent heard before that you might really like.... my fav of the above suggestions is probably the draytones

Many of the tracks that ended up on the first 2 IAMX albums were originally written for a fourth Sneaker Pimps album, which had the working title 'SP4'. Unfortunately, it was rejected by their record company, but the demo version can be found online.

Chris left the band in 2003 and released his first IAMX album "Kiss + Swallow" a year later. He's been living in Berlin since 2006 and has released 3 studio albums since then - "The Alternative" (2006), "Kingdom of Welcome Addiction" (2009) and "Volatile Times" (2011).

The things I love most about IAMX is that Chris is REALLY able to sing (listen to his acoustic songs/live vocals), none of the songs/albums sound the same and the concerts and videos have a very theatrical feel to them.

Marc Martel - Bohemian Rhapsody. Best live version of this I have ever heard.

Sam Tsui - Hold it Against Me. Surprised not mentioned already, but the most popular unsigned act on Youtube with over 200million total views for his vids.

Alex Goot - Pretty Eyes. Looks like a modern day Buddy Holly, and plays all the instruments for his songs

Allison Williams - Mad Men Theme(with a twist). There is just something about her.

Mark Ruebery - Make You Feel My Love. Great voice!
