Surely they just have two in the final? That works out right?

Yes two now in the final. unless they change a rule somewhere. But two contestants for a two day Wembley Final? That is going to be seriously dull and they would have to put alot of filler in the shows. The last time they had a two-person final was series 3 - Leona/Ray and it did drag as it was obvious who was going to win, I think that was just one evening anyway.

Olly/Joe was kind of a two person final on the second night of the weekend. They eliminated Stacey on the Saturday and it was just the other 2 on the Sunday. I think it could work if they did it American Idol style with Saturday being the main performances and Sunday being a few more, lots of guests and other finalists singing.

5 more weeks of live shows seems logical, means the single would be released for Christmas chart to be its first week.

2 in the final would be very boring, it also means LESS revenue from votes which is all they care about..

They do it on Idol every year. The final 2 sing 3 songs each. Then the results night is chock full of special guests, duets and group sings.

.”

Yeah I remember that ..I was thinking more of the overall final weekend being a 3 person. I assume this year would have been that same format with only 2 left on the sunday ..not sure how long theyre planning the show to be but last years was seriously long but they had 4 finalists.

Its just Idol always seems to have much superior contestants to what we have this year, there seems a little less interest overall in the acts this year with no definate favourite, two days could really drag on but it would be good if they got in some really high profile acts to perform I suppose.

Yes, said that in another thread. Just have 2 in the final, problem solved.
