Come on.

He has only himself to blame.

It's his own fault.

I'm not going to feel sorry for someone who just disrespected the people who voted for him.

He threw the biggest opportunity down the drain. A place lots of people would love to be.

He shouldn't have got through to the live shows, that's not his fault, but as an adult he has to take responsibility.

I struggle to feel sorry for him in any shape or form.

Yes, at that age you drink, and maybe do drugs, but he was on The X Factor. Like I said, he has got himself to blame and I don't feel sorry for him.

He took the piss and let down the people who voted for him.

I feel a bit sorry for him. He has screwed up big time in front of the UK's stage. We all screw up at some point but luckily the media doesn't get to hear about it.

As for himself to blame...maybe but I am a firm believer that some of us have a higher self destruct button than others.(aka Pete Docherty and Amy Winehouse) Just a shame he was picked for the live shows and then this mess might not have happened.

I would not say I feel sorry for him, I feel very sorry that Barlow and co allowed this to happen, which is entirely a different matter. The encouraged this, they wanted a bad lad, it would seem Frankie obliged them, and went too far, but it should have been stopped way before this.

Barlow said the last thing he wanted to him to do was behave.

I think Barlow is to blame if anyone for putting him through.

Finally a thread that makes sense. He can't sing, can't follow the rules of the show, he's a bad example for the teenagers. I'm happy that he's gone.

I might not like certain things about Frankie but I do feel like he's been vilified to an extent, made into a public hate figure, so it's hard not to sympathize with that. He might be deserving of criticism, yes, but certainly not the kind of hate he's had to endure. After all he was just a young guy in a singing competition, not a mass murderer or something.

He left at the right time but his fans can claim that he was never voted out.

Basically it's a good career move

Thing is...I thought Frankie was expecting all the 'hate' he's got but he seemed a bit down about it all, I thought he was playing up to that kind of role, the bad boy rubbish singer, and actually knew how bad he is at singing. What's occured to me is that this seems like some massive reality check, I can only assume after seeing comments made by his father that his parents are something to do with this - they have given him the impression he's some future rock star, who's charasmatic and likeable. he's got booed, slated by the press, judges, public but it's as if he expected to be loved and praised for his hilarious antics, looks and 'singing'. I kind of feel sorry for him if he's that deluded.

I agree, there's no doubt in my mind that the producers encouraged Frankie to live up to the bad boy image and were in fact delighted that he did so until he went too far.

I don't feel sorry for him per se but at the end of the day he was a young lad being manipulated by older and wiser ones to suit their purposes.

Totally agree.

The production team condoned his behaviour - even having Dermot, Caroline and Ollie ask him about his wild ways whilst sniggering along.

At his age I made plenty of mistakes. Fortunately I didn't have to be humiliated on a national stage.

I couldn't stand him.
But I certainly have sympathy for him.

Me too. Frankie's addictions had obviously stopped him performing well.
He had to go before humiliating himself even more.
It is sad to see him waste his chance but I hope he gets the help he needs to recover.

About 5% of viewers feel sorry for him. The rest of us are relieved that our ears never have to be tortured again.

One can feel sorry for him and not miss him. I think it only natural to feel sorry for someone who screws up especially if they have not been cruel in the process

It is sad that a young man in the prime of life should be so stupid.

When you look at some of the things Barlow has said since the start of the live shows, it just shows how bad a judge and Mentor he is.

I agree with this, the producers loved the fact that they had a bad boy on their hands, and played up to it at every opportunity. They have a standard of care towards their contestants particularly the young ones, and they faield catastrophically with Frankie. They used and abused him for their own agenda.

Because these people are saps who probably want in his pants and a place on his scrawny little drug fuelled bum. Simple.

As much as I dislike Gary Barlow, I don't think he can be blamed for this. Gary has said lots of daft things when it comes to Frankie but I think when he said the last thing I wasn't you to do is behave, that wasn't giving licence to Frankie to break the law!
It's one thing going out and getting drunk, hooking up with girls and blowing off steam, (although not the best idea if you want to be taken seriously on a show like the x factor) its another kettle of fish doing drugs. So when Gary said that comment, I dont think he meant drugs! I mean if Frankie got in a fight and let's say injured someone, does that mean he can get away with it because "Gary told me not to behave, I'm only doing what he told me to" what a cop out. Frankie chose to do what he did. He took the risk and now is paying the price.

Frankie is not a child, he knows right and wrong, he broke a rule and crossed the line. Unless he was forced against his will to behave the way he did, then he has to take responsibility for his actions.

Here are the facts.

He has brought all of this on himself.
His life choices will inevitably end in tragedy.
Whatever his 'talent' he was popular but he's p'ssed it all away.
He took the place of someone that would have appreciated it it more.
His luck, charm and looks will disapear fast and he will be left with nothing.

However, I still feel sorry for him because he is a human being.

The facts are the producers created the character of 'party animal' Frankie when his original role backfired with the public. They played it for media interest to get the ratings up. TV crews following him, his off stage antics being made as much a focus as his carcrashes on the stage.

Frankie took it to its natural conclusion, at which point they threw him to the wolves. With a lot of platitudes about how he'd thrown away an opportunity, let himself down, let Gary down (the one who said the one thing he wouldn't do is ask him to behave). Which the public then parrot back instead of looking at where the blame really is, the show.

The show has a duty of care to the contestants. Like him or hate him they failed with Frankie, they encouraged it all just got more than they bargained for and then had to backtrack to protect the brand.

Probably the most extreme case so far of chewing them up and spitting them out.

What angers me the most is that he was put through over that lad who was fantastic. Can't think of his name, but he auditioned last year and didn't get through. He got as far as the judges' houses and was in Dannii's category.
