Sorry if you misunderstood me as I'm fully aware they both released on a Monday. I meant that Matt had sold 28k by Tuesday and Cher 26.5 by Wednesday update.

No 40!

I seem to remember Matts album was released on a Monday too wasn't it? Though I may be misremembering.

The Regents St thing looked really good and it was a pretty prestigious line up I thought! (Bill Nighy!

) Great Matt was asked!

I also totally love the Sony throw thing ft Letters. The VT is really nicely edited - quite a few cameras in operation too that night. Does anyone know where it came from - where was it posted?

Didnt think matt did that good!
Im a cher fan so this is showing me how well he actually did.

Btw i secretly LOOOVE Starlight and Letters ( the single)

but SHHH! :L

And i think Sticks + Stones will keep steady sales when she releases singles!

But my god, i listened to his album ( cause my sister got it ) and its a lot better than i actually gave credit for

Whoops sorry I'm confusing people! I simply meant the extra days sales as in Tuesday for Matt and that Cher was less by the Wednesday which may I add is still perfectly good sales for a new artist, just comparing the facts that their were some misguided views on the MF that Matts sales were mince

I thought Matt released on the Sunday so my mistake

I think it's a really nice gesture for MartynMac to come and apologise to us.

I know many of us here last year quite liked Cher and I have young nieces who love her (and 1D). We shouldn't get involved in fan wars because all acts appeal to their own markets.

Yeah I got what you meant Toasty.

They've both done well imo - sales are down anyway as Nicola's pointed out but more than that its a vicious time of year to release an album with all the big guns out too. Steps got their No 1 with 30 000 sales odd - they had the right idea sneaking in early, the little tinkers

They are all going along just fine. They all appeal to different markets. I want to see ALL the acts from last year do well. It was the best year by far! It just a shame that some fans think that by another act failing it makes their fave look good

. Hopefully that's been put to bed now

And hello MartynMac. Good to see you and big hugs for the positive comments. Really love Chers new song and yeah fingers crossed she and Matt continue to sell steadily up to xmas and beyond!!

Ah Martyn, so glad you liked Matt's album. I loved Cher from the first time she auditioned and got quite saddened by the cross fan sniping that went on. She's talented and she'll do well - like our boy
