1 - Getting rid of a group of hopefuls in the house without even having them sing.

2 - The 4 contestants eliminated (by the producers) the judges were stooges.

3 - Bully gate

4 - Kelly absconding

5 - The bickering by the judges

6 - Goldie quitting when she found out they wanted to use as a joke act

7 - Judges saving Frankie when they had the chance to get rid of him - they kept him for the headlines but it soon backfired as he led to complaints from OFCOM about his swearing and viewers switching off as they got tired of him

8 - Allowing a mugger with a criminal record on the show but getting rid of someone who did less of a crime

9 - Double elimination failure attempt to get rid of Frankie

10 - Frankie set up and eviction

11 - Whatever decision they make to replace Frankie

All in all it's been a decent year.

Agree...........now how to fix it next year !!

1. Different judging panel apart from Louis of course, part of the furniture at this stage.

2. Getting the researchers to do their work properly as they scour the clubs, pubs, music venues months in advance to find the " I just decided to come along today and queue" people ! Puh Lease !!

All it takes is the right casting.........in contestants and judges and you still have a great show.

oh it will never ever be a serious show to find a real pop start.........it will still be just a prime time Saturday entertainment show, but do it right............thats all they have to do.

Number 8 is in no way unique, although to be honest I have no idea what he did as I try to avoid the press, so you had better tell me, in no way unique as someone on Pop Idol 2 was convicted of the same crime, and the outcry for him to be out was huge, but they kept him in the final 10 his name was Marc something or other. The family of the victim went nuts that he was being paraded on their TVs as such a sweet guy.

This wasn't the shows fault, so I don't see the issue. She wasn't kicked out because of her criminal record, she was kicked out because she couldn't get a visa.

Ending up with no less than three "groups" put together during the boot camp or judges' houses stages. Then changing the members of one of those "groups" again during the live shows.

..... rendering the whole concept of auditioning as a "group" pretty much redundant.

Marc Dillon story below so did this guy this year do something as bad as this.. link below

http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-107152286.html

There were photos of the guy he beat up and believe me they were serious injuries, he was hospitalised, and he stayed on the show.

I remember that! it was a horrible crime, a family man was battered and left for dead and then the gang ransacked his home.

Kitty being accused of making a racist comment. XF failed to deny the story.

Ashley leaving The Risk.
The whole refusal to change the name ..then changing to Little Mix a few weeks into the show.

I only mentioned it Galena as I am not sure if people here realise other criminals have been allowed on these shows in the past, and this crime was disgusting, as you say they even went on to rob his home.

I think the X Factor has been on a slippery slope of decline ever since Robert Unwin the chicken factory worker who sang Barbie girl wasnt put through.

I really think the line-up change for The Risk happened because the producers picked up from the internet that Ashford had caught people's eye and that Ashley hadn't made much of an impact. Nothing to do with religion or career decisions on Ashley's part at all.

Yep, and putting a group through to live shows (The Risk+Charlie) who had never actually performed together.

They are probably still desperately searching for a solution which isn't immoral, illegal, too boring or something which would make Simon's head explode
