Greetings,

The Hard Drive on my box stopped working a few weeks ago so I duly bought another one and installed it. The machine can see the drive, format it and do everything else. But it doesn't find any frequencies in a channel scan. One of the capacitors (the big one in the middle of the PSU) has a (very very) slight bulge in the top. Could this be the problem?

I don't particularly want to buy a new PSU (not up to replacing capacitor I don't think) so any tips would be most welcome.

From your description of the capacitor bulge it seems that new capacitors/power supply is a great bet for fixing your box.

The capacitors that cause problems are the 1000uF ones. There are 2 on the PSU. Is it one of these which is bulging?
