I'd say Kristina overall, but Erin for ballroom.

I think if any of 'em - apart from Anton - get a celeb who can dance a bit, they can turn on the choreography.

I loved Darren's and Ian's and Matthew's choreography when they were in it. But Pasha is fast becoming my favourite. He's electrifying to watch and he's geting some absolutely splendid performances out of Chelsee.

Apart from Pasha, my favourite dancers to watch are Natalie and Brendan, but I think they both want you to be looking at them, rather than at the celbrity. Which is fair enough if the celebrity is pants, I suppose. If Pasha gets a dud next time, we'll see if he does it, too.

Erin and Vincent because they have created lovely routines consistently for a broad range of abilities. Artem has turned in some very creative numbers but frankly, having had a semi trained dancer last year, and a decent, fit performer this, hasn't been tested.

Natalie for me. I was so impressed with her in her first series and she still is producing good stuff (even for Audley).

Artem seems to only do showdances and I would like him to do a less showy routine once in a while.

When it comes to whose routines I can remember most, Brendan and Aliona top the list.

For "best" choreography, I think there's 3 types you can look at:

Flashy/showdance-y: Aliona, Artem
Understated: Robin, Erin
In-between: Brendan, Flavia, Natalie, Pasha

I would really like to see Robin get a young celeb next year (a Chelsee or a Holly if you will) just to see how his choreography steps up.

This is a hard one because when a Pro has a good partner the choreography tends to look better anyway, just because they can make their celeb do more (unless the visual interpretation is all wrong which a pro can sometimes get wrong no matter how good the celeb dancer is, like erin with the dolls, that was just stupid, the creative element behind that was all wrong)?!

When Flavia had Matt Diangelo her choreography was second to none for me that series. But with Russell (who aint as good a dancer) Flavs choreography is (expectantly) not shining as much as say Kristina who now finally has a good partner to choreography well for. And while Kristina herself did quite well to choreography funny and memorable routines for herself and John, to me, I wouldn't align those clever routines that were tailored to his skills (or lack of) as good routines but just well thought out routines for the dancer in hand. Memorable or funny choreography (that is typical for such a lesser dancer as John) may equal entertainment value but good choreography for me in when you actually see quality Latin/Ballroom being danced in front of you and as close to the art form as you can get with a Pro/amateur coupling. So while clever and entertaining choreography for lesser dancers is creditable, I don't see it as good because the actual dance quality isn't there (if that makes sense).

With Pros like Artem and Aliona they're both very style orientated dancers and can create either beautiful or alternative (or both) types of routines etc but when they persist on leaving out content (in this and last series) I'm left thinking i.e. ... nice contemporary dance with a bit of latin or Ballroom thrown in but would be nice if you can meet the challenge of creating a Latin/Ballroom dance where the contemporary element doesn't override the Latin/Ballroom aspect of the dance. Otherwise they're consistently good at creating styles of dance that aren't actually what the show is meant to be about (which is what I watch the show for)! I love their (so called out of the box) creativity but I want to see more Strictly choreography than SYTYCD choreography. If they didn't water dances down as they have done I'd say those two were the best Latin/Ballroom choreographers on the show. But alas I can't say that because sometimes I don't think I've actually seen a Latin/ballroom dance before me. In general I think any Pro that gets good celeb has more chance of achieving good choreography through most of a series. I think most of the so called rated celebs from each series was given good routines (by their Pro) more often than bad ones, and pob for the more common likelihood that it's easier for a Pro to create something good when they already have a talent to extend their vision from. So I think it depends on the year if a Pro delivers good choreography more often than not. The last time I liked Brendan's routines was way back when he had Lisa Snowdon. Just a shame that lots of people didn't like her as some of those dances that year by Brendan were my definition of good (apart from that awful showdance... that was interpretation gone wrong again).

Overall Artem & Natalie.

Though from their efforts this year Pasha & Kristina are giving them a good run for their money.

I think the new pro's are not worn out yet. The pro's that are around for a while you start seeing they use set routines for certain dances and in time I think you will notice this with the new pro's as what they are doing is 'new' right now.

Thats why I think the BBC change teh line-up as even the great pro's get stale or run out of ideas or just plain exhausted.

Artem, by a country mile.

I also like choreo from Natalie, Pasha, Kristina and *whispers* Aliona (although I will grant that it could often do with a few more dance steps ).

He really didn't get much of a chance this year, but I think Vincent has also created some routines that were memorable for the right reasons .

Kristina & Pasha overall.

Not particularly a Natalie fan but she can sure choreograph some amazing, amazing ballrroom numbers.

Brendan for Male Pro's and Kristina/ Katya for the Female Pro's

Pasha, Kristina, Natalie and ARTEM! Artem is original and inventive with his choreography and no other pro currently on the show can match him.

From the past I'd have to say Ian, Matthew, Lilia and Vincent when he was with Rachel.

The ability of the celeb is a big factor - as has been said.

Flavia created some great routines for Matt.
Vincent did likewise with Rachel.
Brendan with Lisa.
Matthew with Alesha etc.

I would put Lilia first because she not only choreographed great routines for Goughie and Matt, but was a good enough teacher to get complete novices to a level to perform the routines.
Lovely guy that Richard was, you can see that without a celeb that can learn to dance, even Lilia would not be able to shine.

It is hard, but if you look past the celebs ability you can still see examples of quality choreography given to the less- obviously talented.

This year Flavia is doing really well - having landed supposedly a 'joke' contestant, unlike Anton who didn't bother much with choreography for Nancy, or Ann last year, she is striking a great balance between using Russell's comedic appeal and mixing in good choreography.

I also think Natalie is doing a great job creating routines for Audley.

Lilia is still my all time favourite choreographer though, she could craft a routine for anyone.

Yes, we need to see Artem with someone who's in her sixties and XL size to get a balanced view. It'll be his turn next year for definite, or at least it should be.

Eh, not with his back... not with his shoulder... Wait and see next time, they'll put him with a child actor of eight, or one of those dancing collies.

Natalie slightly edges it, because she's shown that she can choreograph for a poor celeb, whereas Artem hasn't had to yet (which isn't his fault, of course).”

Totally agree. I could watch her Viennese Waltz with Scott Maslen again and again and again...in fact I do!

Glad to see Natalie is getting some recognition after all previous years' comments from posters on the forum. She must be doing something right.
