Weird VCRs
Hi
I have two daewoo vcrs sitting in the same room and something weird is happening to both of them.I put tapes in both of them and both on to play..... before either tape gets to the end they both eject at the same time.the remote isn't even pointing at them I then did the same but put one tape in 5 seconds later than the other and it was 5 seconds later on ejecting.Whats going on !!!!!!! Has something been sent over the airwaves and its ****** them up ? They were both conected thru tv aerial and telewest digital. |

Could there be bright light falling on them. This can sometimes trip the optical end sensors in some VCRs. If both end sensors see light at the same time, the VCR will think the tape has snapped and eject it.

They both stop after same ammout of time played.Doesn't matter what point on the tape they are at.
Nothing has changed in where they are positioned or anything,Had them for at least 3 years now. |

Sorry, couldn't resist. Sounds like the usual self-destruction of the 'cheaper' end of the market VCRs. I'm sure they have some sort of firmware programmed to start playing up after a couple of years. Try resetting the clock to 1990something and seeing if it still happens. And does it show how much time has elapsed (or is it old-style counter 0-9999)? You might want to try E180 in one and E240 in the other and do a test. |
