Jailbreaking an IPad2
Lordy Lordy

My sister in law purchased an IPad2 recently. One of the things she wanted to do with it was play bingo on the gala bingo site. Whilst she can get the site to show up on the Ipad, sadly, she can't go any further.

Would jailbreaking her IPad allow a programme to be installed which would allow her to play the bingo from the Gala site?

I understand the implications of jailbreaking regarding her warranty but she's quite happy to risk that if she can play bingo.

The likelihood is that the Gala Bingo site is at least partly written in Flash. If that's the case it won't work on the iPad as it doesn't support Flash. Jailbreaking won't help that.

There are alternative browsers for the iPad that she can try, but they may not be reliable, and if she's betting with real money, that could cause problems.

Access the site on a PC. Right-click on an animated part of the screen and see if the Flash menu appears (the bottom option is "About Adobe Flash Player" followed by the version number). If so, then indeed that is almost certainly the problem.

Googling for flash ipad2 lists various ways of running Flash on an iPad. I've no experience of using any of them, so I've no idea if they are safe or effective. Perhaps another poster can offer more advice.
