Dunno though, this scenario has been a complete and total farce, the producers have clearly messed up massively. It was never this extreme in previous years though.”

I'm sure I have read all xfactor contestants are under contract for something like 6 months following elimination. All 4 of them appear in the M&S adverts and I think would be in the charity single would be coming back for the group performance. So they probably are still in close contact with the xfactor machine.

We can make assumptions based on how things were handled in Pop Idol and Popstars: The Rivals.

In Pop Idol 1, Rik Waller was ill two weeks on the trot, so he was removed and replaced with Darius Danesh, who was illiminated from the competition prior to the live finals.

In Popstars: The Rivals, a girl who's name I can't remember chose not to sign the contract and couldn't continue on to the live finals. She was replaced by Nicola Roberts. Kinda similar to how the replaced Goldie with Sami at the last minute.

This exactly. It was messing for messing sake and its come back and bitten them on the arse.

Didnt they learn the lesson of Big Brother? People feel cheated if you mess with the formula too much.

Perhaps it is the same staff as Big Brother?

The rules were already in place in PI - first reserve for any finalist was the person next in their group. By the rules that was Darius.
- absolutely clear.
As it happened, because that particular group was by far the strongest, it was the tightest vote wise too (with Sarah Whatmore just behind Darius), and Darius had the biggest audience vote of ALL of the 40 others.

It seems to me that the rules of X Factor are deliberately vague...........perhaps so they can be interpreted anyway Simon and his lawyers like.

I was sorry to see sophie go and Melaine McCabe who unfortunately didn't get through to the live final. I'm only keeping watching it because i do like Little Mix. If they weren't in it i would have given up watching the x factor weeks ago.
