They might just as well spit in the faces of three of the rejects.

Imagine you are one of the four. You have just got used to the fact you are out of the competition. You have gone back to your day job. Then they bring you back, raise your hopes, get you to rehearse for this weeks theme.

Then they bring you all on stage for the results of the vote.

Only one person gets through so the rest have spent hours rehearsing only to be kicked out and made a fool of for a second time without even performing. How horrible would that be?

They've already spit in the faces of the public by producing a complete and total shambles this year........

what difference will it make spitting in the faces of the rejected !

At least they will be consistent.

They don't have to say yes to it though do they?
Or do they? Are the contractually obliged to do it?

Maybe the producers felt like one public humiliation wasn't quite enough, so they decided to stage a second one?

I was wondering about that - are / were they still under contract?

Also, it's very quick work by the XF to have got all this together - i.e. got in touch with them all, what if one of them had been on holiday or something?

One of them lives in Dublin one could have been in Afghanistan for all we know, and they did not do it that quickly really it seemed to take ages for a decision to be announced which is why I thought it would be this one, they would have to have approached the MOD in Jonjos case, which takes time.

They better not bring them all on stage, that is grossly nasty, cruel and one of these people is over 7 months pregnant, we dont need this, we just need to be told that the person who polled the highest public vote is XCXXXXXXX and get on with the show...

The person through could be out on Sunday and lets face shaking that tag of in for a day will be very hard.

I will say this though I dont think any of the 4 have had a choice they signed a contract it will have covered EVERY eventuality.

Is quick isn't it, anyone would think this has been the plan right from week 1....double elimination...frankie leaves 2 days later and all of a sudden were an act short and oh look we've got those 4 from week 1 when in fairness keeping Johnny would of been the more logical solution. Frankie has done a most excellent job though, wonder how much he was paid to be a plant?

I agree - if that's the way they're going to do it

I really dislike that part on XFactor - the standing on stage each Sun. and waiting for the results.

I think it was very quickly done - considering - unless they already had it all lined up as a possibility.

I wonder if the rejects contract specified the option of a possible return and they had to be available within 48hrs notice

So have I got this right, we, the GBP, are mean to vote now, based on our recollection of their one live performance and auditions?

then one gets to sing on saturday?

Yeah, pretty much what it sounds like. Though I'd imagine they'll be trotted out on stage so Dermot gets to tease them with the golden carrot one final time, well, assuming they aren't brought back again at a later stage of the competition.

I wish that one one or more of them would have the dignity to just pull out of this farce

Well, I don't like the idea of bringing them back but anyway, performing one more time on X-Factor is not a bad thing, right ?

Kind of a cheek really.

ITV should of ripped up the schedules and gave us a bonus half hour live show tonight with all 4 getting to sing again, then the phone lines open. At least people will be more aware of it and the 4 at least get another chance rather than 3 basically being told to **** off.

Yeah, this would have been better and also would be more 'real' and less contrived - the performances would be 'warts and all'

Yes, they are still contracted to the show.

They would all be back next week anyway for the charity single performance.

Given the shambles this year has been, they could all be back by the end of the show

If they had any self respect they would not have agreed to come back. The four acts are desperate and know they don't have the talent to make it themselves. The best they could do are playing local clubs/pubs. They are rejects and most don't want them back

On what do you base this massive assumption?

No. You can't have contracts like that, it would be too one-sided and unfair. They have all probably been paid to do it, or if not, then they missed an opportunity to screw some money out of the machine! They are all probably deludng themselves that they have a chance, it's all about them, it's all a great opportunity - they are just more fodder for the great threshing machine of television.

Will whoever gets through on Saturday sing on the live show and be part of the nomination process?

Who knows? but either way it is unfair.

If they do sing then they have only had 48 hours to learn and practise a new song. Unfair to them.

If they don't sing then they will get yet another free pass to the following week. Unfair on everyone else.

It stinks either way.

I wonder if the others (paticulary JonJo and 2 Shoes) know that they probably have no chance and so on. Amelia seems very popular, and is already ahead of some acts still in the show on the odds. They must all have an idea that she's likely to be the one?

So hopefully there hopes are not raised too much and it isn't too upsetting.

I think it was mentioned somewhere that the winning act to rejoin would be announced at 8.15pm Saturday night. So not enough time for any of them to sing, just to do a montage of their audition, bootcamp and judges houses performances, for Dermot to have a quite obviously scripted chat with the judges and an ad-break.
I really hope that they don't trot all four acts out for the result, like lambs to slaughter. The only way they could justify that would be if the four acts already knew the result of the vote and just had to feign disappointment for 'dramatic' purposes, what with X Factor being a really bad panto nowadays.
