I mean it's not like they are making the money, it is going to a good cause, well the majority of it anyway......

I would be pissed off if all the money went to them but they have sort of done one thing right......

Hahahaha, yeah, good old Syco. Of the 36p it costs to vote, 22p goes to charity!!! The generosity is mind boggling! Syco only makes 14p per vote. So only 100,000 people need to vote to make Syco another million!!! Sickening.

only because there would be uproar if it didn't.

"atleast 22p"

also I doubt 100,000 people will vote and then a small sum would actually go to Syco!

There will EASILY be more than 100,000 votes.

There are 4 acts and no limit to how many times you can vote. 100,000 votes is not the same as 100,000 people. It's only 10,000 people voting 10 times each!

No, doing something right would be giving all proceeds from vote to the charity (particularly as it is rememberence weekend). So im afraid i cant join you in applauding their actions.

Its going to a charity called Suckers Anonymous. Suckers Anonymous is an organisation which tries to educate people against behaving like sheep. You are taught to think for yourself, not believe everything you are told and to use independent rational thought before acting.

I suppose you had a shit childhood, if the only response you can think of is posting negative comments within my thread...... then someone forgot to bring positivity within your life

Minus the 3k that each act is supposedly getting as a 'discretionary payment' for doing the M&S advert

Well hello my little ray if sunshine, your initial post does have a cynical vibe of its own I fear, or rather the part that says "well the majority of it anyway......''. Am I to assume you only had a partially shit childhood, that you see the glass as half empty and half full?

Absolutely. There is no doubt that the decent approach would be for Them[tm] to give charity all the voter's actual costs and charitably absorb the costs of running the vote.

It wasn't exactly all glitter and Five Star and ra-ra skirts round my way either but that shouldn't stop me expressing an opinion now in my adult years.

I read it on the X Factor official site so I think it should be correct. Unless of course there's another flaming twist.

can't believe no-one has questioned this maths!!!
100,000 votes @ 14p is £14k not 1 million.
quite a difference there.

Although I agree with the sentiment of the poster.

Sorry - but that doesn't make it right. It doesn't matter if only 50 people vote - all this fuss is publicity for XF which just cannot be measured. You watch - this Saturday's viewing figures will be the biggest that the show has seen for the finals so far. The financial reward to Syco from the increased viewing figures and advertising revenue will dwarf the paltry amount that the charity will get.
