Can this player be hacked? Anyone got any ideas for a remote hack?

There isn't a remote hack available for this model I'm afraid.

Positive. In fact I don't think there are any Panasonic players that are remote hackable. Some other members may be able to correct me on this.

Sorry, but I don't know where to get players chipped.

Hope this helps

You're right Fluffy. Panasonic, Sony (owner of Columbia Tristar), Toshiba (very close with Warner), Pioneer (big laserdisc distributor, also distributes quite a lot of DVDs), and JVC are all members of the group that devised the DVD spec originally, and supporters of (rather than paying lip service to supporting) region coding.

The players with remote hacks are those from manufacturers who are either not linked to studios or not part of the original consortium, and have to implement region coding as it's a legal requirement of licencing the DVD spec, but make it easily circumventable from the remote.

Hardware mods are the way to go with the players from the "better" manufacturers, places like techtronics and upgrade heaven will provide this service for you.

Here's the Techtronics link for you, if you haven't got it already.

I got my Panasonic RV41 from them before Christmas.

Hope it helps.
