Take That

Yes, it's another Gary thread.

Does anyone think that Take That will be impacted negatively as a result of Gary's disastrous stint on X Factor? Thanks to Frankie-gate, and especially the way he is handling the whole thing by passing the blame, his credibility is taking a right battering.

I don't think he realised what a huge gamble he was taking by jumping on the Syco train. Surely he knew that a lot of stuff (i.e. who made the lives) would be out of his control?

I think this is one job he'll wish he never took.

I don't! I can see the train of thought that you are on however I think for something like backing a teenage drug addict for 6 weeks of a reality show isnt enough to undo 20+ years of extraordinary work from Barlow. Love him or Hate him as a judge the face is he is an incredibly talented musician and song writer!

If people could over look the potential of MJ being a child abuser then im sure they can overlook this!

(I know their in different leagues but the point is the same)

take that has sold roughly 8 million albums in the last five years. the bubble is obviously going to burst at some point soon. however, his role on the x factor is possibly going to speed up the process i suspect.

Yes I think your right,

Its like (but on a much smaller scale), The Beatles and ABBA gravy train's which trundle along on auto pilot and every now and again, somebody powers the charger and they go a bit faster.

Barlow as a stand alone is a non starter, but he is part of a much bigger machine-yes he writes the songs but they need him, and he needs them.

In effect though, it could be argued that for the second time Barlow's solo efforts have been a disaster.

If Mark Owens 10 million affairs on his wife (even when she was pregnant) didn't stop the love for him and the band, plus the fact some of the members must have known what was going on then Gary being a prize twit on a rubbish talent show isn't going to stop them making £££££££

If anything he had added to the fanbase by being on XFactor (due to his looks more than anything else)

Who's to say Take That will do anything else anyway.

I see GB on the x factor as a completely different entity to TT anyway.

I dont think so.

Gary was an arse way before x factor, it didnt hurt Take that when they reformed (and hed been an arse for all the years they werent together), it wont now.

I think his image as a musical maestro has probably taken a beating though.
