I'm sick of Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody. There are so many great rock bands in the UK. Why not a Led Zep/Pink Floyd week for example? "The Great Gig In The Sky" could be one hell of a song to show off their voices.

because queen have that broad pop appeal that led zep and pink floyd don't. simple!

I know you need powerful vocals - but that wouldn't stop Janet doing a soft, yodel'd mis-pronounced version. I can actually hear it in my head.

Id forgotten Kitty had done that already though.

I think Kitty should do "the show must go one". Shes got the voice for that. Maybe she should try "Im going slightly mad" which would be apt - in a nice way

The Show Must Go On would suit Kitty well I think

I think she may do Killer Queen her outfit she posted on her Twitter fits the song, its similar to what Freddie wore in his early days and live performances of the song.

No,it wouldn't.To sing it "right" you need a clear effortless toned as well as powerful belt range, rich lower register, and at least 3 octaves singable range. I have a freakishly huge range and can belt like Claire Tory, and that song still requires a lot effort because of the dynamics and subtle nuances in it.In fact,"big" Whitney/Celine/Leona " ballads are a walk in the park in comparison.

I'm not saying none of the contestants are as good,or that they can't singchallenging songs, just not that one. It's not about how good a singer is. It's that you either have the range and pipes/voice type for it or you don't,and if you don't ,it's a choice of headvoice or shout, both of which don't sound nice on a song with the vocal melody as lead and not even words to hide behind.

I hated Kitty's version of Who Wants to Live Forever, so many bum notes.

Kitty gave it a good go at least, but IMO Rhydian has done the best cover of that song
